Ding! The King of Town is a featured article, which means it showcases an important part of the Homestar Runner body of work and/or highlights the fine work of this wiki. We also might just think it's cool. If you see a way this page can be updated or improved without compromising previous work, feel free to contribute.

Fun Facts

* At the end of the clip, the sheep in the background continues chewing, even though the camera is set on "PAUSE."

I think that's just looping, but if other people think it's a fun fact...--Hysterical Woman 17:36, 19 Nov 2004 (MST)

Marzipan's Dad?

According to the really old characters page, in the museum, it states that the KOT is actually Marzipan's dad.

Yes, we know. It's one of the most hotly debated things on the Wiki. Personally, I don't see any reason to doubt it, but some would argue that it's not true. --[[User:Upsilon|Upsilon]]
We don't think it's true BECAUSE THE BROTHER CHAPS SAID IT WASN'T. They decided against it.
Exactly!!! Why do people keep on saying she is when TBC said it was a scrapped idea! 20X6 GEM
If that was true, Marzipan would be the princess of town, and Homestar would (if they ever got married) become the prince of town. Weird, huh? Stramstar Hummer
It would also mean that when the king of town died, homstar would be king of town. Creepy... — talk Bubsty edits 21:55, 19 December 2005 (UTC)
Not necessarily. For example, the husband of the queen of England is not king unless he is already has a claim to the throne in his own right; when he does not, he is a prince consort. — It's dot com 22:35, 19 December 2005 (UTC)
I suppose it all depends on the laws of succession in Free Country USA. Then again, the fact that nobody seems to recognize the KOT's reign as legit means that it probably doesn't matter anyway. Heimstern Läufer 22:42, 19 December 2005 (UTC)

How can we be sure that the King of Town played by Homestar is the same King? It might well have taken place centuries ago, under the reign of a different King. --[[User:Upsilon|Upsilon]]

King of Prussia?

I found this on the Wikipedia:King of Prussia, Pennsylvania page. Note the line "Residents often refer to King of Prussia in print as "KoP", and in conversation as "K.O.P." I couldn't help but think about the KOT when I read that. Is this notable for the article? - Dr Haggis - Talk 13:12, 8 Jan 2005 (MST)

In the since that it has hardly anythign to do with a king of a town, it only has a resemblance to the abreviated "K.O.T", not realy, interesting trivial idea though. Thechamp 21:45, 7 Aug 2005 (UT
I think it deserves some mention. We have mentioned interesting coincedences before. Rogue Leader / (my talk) 17:25, 2 Oct 2005 (UTC)
The people I know from that area (they don't live in King of Prussia, but nearby) sometimes refer to the King of Prussia Mall as "Kay-Oh-Pee", but they don't usually call it that. -- Tom 17:40, 2 Oct 2005 (UTC)
I live very close to there, and let me tel you i've never heard it referenced as "The KoP." They say "King of Prussia." Although they often slur it so it sounds like "Kingaprussia." --Tyler 16:13, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

Eating Due To Death?

In the old books, he is the Prince of town. Becoming the King would mean his father died. THis might explain why he eats so much. Some people use 'comfort food' as a way to escape their problems. Perhaps the K.O.T. is one of these people. Stramstar Hummer

I think its just that the king is really hungry. I doubt it has anything to do with his father. --— talk Bubsty edits 17:22, 2 Oct 2005 (UTC)

I agree with Bubsty. In the Homestar Universe, does anything really apply to real life? -The Coachsmith

I think the king is just one of those people who isn't really picky about food-He just likes food altogether--Gir007 02:16, 13 February 2006 (UTC)Zaak

How the king of town got fat?

How do you think the king of town got fat in the first place?

I think he, as the the price of town, ate the entire lifetime supply of fishsticks in flashback

KOT Website

For one day sometime between suggest 2002 and June 2003, the Homestarrunner website was replaced by a KOT minisite. There was a game which included Strongbad having to fling pies at the KOT while he fired cannons. I don't know what day it was, and that media has not been posted since, but it definitely happened. Anyone else remember this?

Yes. —FireBird|Talk 21:05, 23 January 2006 (UTC)

Domicile

According to the commentary on the DVD, the KoT doesn't actually live in that castle. He lives in some two bed-room job near Strong Bad's house.--Tyler 16:18, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

a costume thing

Ok, I think the kot dressed up as one of the characters of nbc on one of the toons is either: a. he wants peploe who like the movie to like him. there a lot of fans. i should know. nbc.net has like 2000 something members and hat's not the fan site with the most members. halloweentown.org is. it didn't work though

b. tbc just wanted to do some thing with one of the characters of that awsome movie.( fandom? just want to? who knows?)

c. seer coundince. i mean if you replace mayor with king in the name of the character, you get koht.

i'm done now-B gal

What? This needs to be Subtitled into English. --Jay v.2024 (Auld lang syne) 21:20, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
She thinks KOT dressed as the mayor of Halloweentown because 1) it's a popular movie, and he longs to be popular, 2) TBC love the film, or 3) the names resemble each other - King of Town, Mayor of Halloween-Town. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 21:29, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

i told you i suck at spelling. and thanks for telling what i mean, qermaq. and the movie being popular is true. i'm obsesed with it.-B gal

I think it's because both the KOT and the MOH are officials. 71.231.56.40 17:24, 12 April 2007 (UTC)

King Caveat?

In Halloween Fairstival on his x-ray, his name could possibly be General Caveat, which could mean he was in a war of some kind and lead it (if any war ever accord). Then again, if he could self-appoint himself as King of Town, he could very much do so with the title of General.

Transfer

Although this page is properly formatted and well constructed, do we need this article? Does it give any real info? We just got rid of Coach Z's Z for goodness sake. - Dr Haggis - Talk 23:02, 26 Jan 2005 (MST)
I agree and we did just get rid of Coach Z's Z. It seems quite odd that a brand new registered user (who attempted to redirect their user page to a blocked troll's userpage) would create this page as their first contribution. Odd indeed. -- Tom 23:12, 26 Jan 2005 (MST)

KoT

This info seems like something that could be part of the King of Town's page, but it doesn't seem to need it's own page anymore than say Strong Mad's singlet. - Ilko Skevüld's Teh C 00:13, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

True — any information that's not already included on the KOT's page can just be added there, in my opinion. Trey56 04:01, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
Agreed. Merge with the KOT page. Rogue Leader / (my talk) 04:09, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

Merge?

Should we merge the KOT's servants to this page? they've only been in two freakin' cartoons! User: Im a bell

I don't think so. Check out the filmographies: most of them have been in more than two, some quite a few more. Trey56 01:08, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

Eating and more eating

The King of Town is stated to be eating or trying to eat all kinds of crazy stuff (like himself). I think the list would benefit from having the source noted for each item in the list. — It's dot com 18:57, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

I agree. It especially helps with some of the more unusual ones. --DorianGray 18:59, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
