Fibonacci

Anyone else notice that the number of legs of Li'l Brudder and Pals (0,1,2,4) can be described by a Fibonacci-like sequence? Look out for a seven-legged spider!

  • That's not a Fibonacci sequence. A more valid Fibonacci sequence would be 0,1,1,2,3.. Aurora the Homestar Coder 20:44, 12 May 2005 (UTC)

That's One Ugly Dog

While I do appreciate their creative control and it's slightly humorous, Li'l Brudder went from a cute puppy to this skeezy looking dog with a hole in his tooth (Which I guess IS supposed to be a nod to Courage the Cowardly Dog but still). Am I the only one who feels this way? --heebrewhammer23 16:38, 18 Apr 2005 (UTC)

You can share this on the forum page, listed on the front page. Most people here do not take too kindly to commentary on the talk pages. I hope you continue to enjoy your stay at the wiki! --The Somewhat Awesome Jesty 19:52, 18 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Characters

Should we make induvidual character pages for the mole and the legless parrot? I'm thinking we can splice Li'l Brudder, Tendafoot, and those two guys into one page. --thatkidsam 19:44, 18 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Ehhh... I'm skeptical, especially since we don't know those characters' names. --Jay 19:50, 18 Apr 2005 (UTC)
As am I. They have no speaking voices and really just stand there. Well, except for that parot, who falls over. →FireBird

I'm thinking of merging the Parrot and Possum pages under The Dregs. Li'l Brudder and Tendafoot could be merged there too. Thoughts? - Dr Haggis - Talk 00:59, 22 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Quarterback

I think that Li'l Brudder's football-playing scene is definately a reference to when, in "Crying," Strong Bad makes The Cheat cry with the Li'l Brudder picture, saying, "I'm gonna be the quarterback when I grow up." I'm new to this, but I was surprised that nobody had mentioned that yet.

I think The Brothers Chaps meant it to be an obvious reference to crying.
Oh, and please sign your posts. →FireBird

Things are lookin' up! (DECLINED)

The title of the page and Lil' Brudder's line at the end of the toon "Things are lookin' up!" is probably a reference to the Gershwin song of the same name. (Incidentally, there's also a line in the song that says "I'm happy as a pup.")TakuaKaita600 21:39, 19 Apr 2005 (UTC)

  • Comment. Here's a link to the lyrics. -- tomstiff 21:56, 19 Apr 2005 (UTC)

  • Close, but Decline. It's just an optimism from someone who has no reason to be optimistic. I doubt that the song popularized the phrase, even if it's old. Dasrik 23:50, 19 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Ugly Animation (DECLINED)

The animation resembles the work of Klasky Csupo (most famous for Rugrats), in which characters were often of the ugly-but-suppose-to-be-cute kind. The resemblance is strongest in the "skydiving" segment.

  • Decline Wha...? Obviously not! Li'l Brudder is supposed to look raggety- he was made to make someone cry! --acekirby13 16:33, 18 Apr 2005 (UTC)
  • Declime Li'l Brudder pretty much looks the way Strong Bad drew him originally. He looks odd in the skydiving sequence 'cuz he's prolly falling at near terminal velocity! -- tomstiff 16:44, 18 Apr 2005 (UTC)
  • Not So Li'l Decline Li'l Brudder's the only one that may look "ugly" due to the addition of visible black hairs all over his body and discolored teeth. Tendafoot looks exactly like the two-legged elephant Strong Bad drew, and the Legless Parrot and Human-Nosed Possum look like animated copies of the real animal, just with the aforementioned maladies. I think TBC made Li'l Brudder "uglier" to draw more pity for everybody's favorite go-getter. GillanTheVillain 17:01, 18 Apr 2005 (UTC)
  • Withdrawn I posted this originally, and on closer inspection I agree that Li'l Brudder looks more like Courage the Cowardly Dog than a K C creation. Lucres 17:25, 18 Apr 2005 (UTC)
  • Late 360 Shove-It To Decline'd! I think its unintentional, but kinda true about the "ugly, but cute" part. In spite of that, I also Second all of the above. Cheatachu72 18 Apr 2005

Ceiling height

The fun facts say that the ceiling seems to be a lot higher than previously supposed, as in Homestar Runner Pay Plus, when Homestar falls only partly through and lands on Strong Mad's head. It also says it seems to be the same height that it was in couch patch, though really in couch patch it never gave a good hint as to how high the ceiling was. A better comparison would be in Strong Mad's character video, when Strong Mad knocks the camera over(you have to pause the flash file to see it, of course). There the ceiling would seem relatively low in comparison to the way it is in this toon, unless there are two blue and white stripes running across it. i.e., in Strong Mad's character video, the stripe seen behind him before he knocks the camera over is lower down on the wall, and the stripe we see as the camera falls over is higher above the lower stripe, which would seem to be the case, if you keep track of where the lower stripe is on the wall. If this is the case, the ceiling would be about the same height, but the higher stripe is just left out in the li'l brudder show. Of course, TBC were probably just taking artistic license with the ceiling height, though since there is a fun fact about it, I felt I should point this out. --Ogog

I really don't think there can be much credence lent to the height of the celing on the April Fools toon, since it was, y'know, April Fools and all. I doubt Strong Bad is gonna have the trap door in any of his future e-mails. Of course, that's just a guess, and maybe he will. Then my perception of the toon's reality would be all outta whack. Irregardlessly, I say that the April Fools stuff never happened, and that the ceiling has always been high up in the sky. Perhaps. GillanTheVillain 00:21, 21 Apr 2005 (UTC)

anyone else think homestar himself is getting funnier?

between homestar's fit in "long pants" and the free-floating sobbing, is homestar getting funnierer?
