I thought this album should have a template of its own to match Strong Bad Sings and Other Type Hits. On KickstarterVideos, then, we could just have a single link to Trogdor!! The Board Game Rulebook EP in a "music" section, along with Trogdor Was Dragon Man. Thoughts? 01:38, 26 October 2019 (UTC)

:Well, the template sure looks nice and clean, and it's a nice way to organize all those pages all tightly and neatly. I say go for it, and tuck it on the bottom of every page linked on it. -- 68.37.43.131 02:18, 26 October 2019 (UTC)

Brainkrieg lyrics

There's still a few words I don't understand before we can remove the stub section from the lyrics page: The second change to the refrain of "Trogdor's Fiery Rage". I think it might be "fly with the cards", but that doesn't feel right. The lyrics as I hear them are below - note the ???s. - Portmanteauxses

BRAINKRIEG: {singing}
So you lost the game
Well that's really lame
But Troggie's got a fire
That cannot be contained!

Trogdor's Fiery Rage! (Draw five cards!)
Trogdor's Fiery Rage! (???)
Trogdor's Fiery Rage! (Draw five cards!)
Trogdor's Fiery Rage!

He gets wraparound
Burns everything down
Just by touching it
Except the archer lives

Trogdor's Fiery Rage! (Draw five cards!)
Trogdor's Fiery Rage! (???)
Trogdor's Fiery Rage! (Draw five cards!)
Trogdor's Fiery Rage!

{spoken} Deck of cards!
Jugga jigga wugga.

Individual Pages

The page is a bit long and cluttered, and it will just become more confusing as more music videos are released. I think individual pages should be made for each song, similar to Strong Bad Sings and Other Type Hits. That way, this page will become more concise and clear, and whenever a song gets a video, we can just add the video information to the song's page. The song and the video would be covered on the same page, à la These peoples try to fade me, so no "(video)" would be needed in the title. The lyrics would be transcribed Once and Only Once. I'm in favor. 71.234.175.43 21:02, 10 May 2019 (UTC)
So am I. That'd be a good idea. Lira (talk) 22:59, 10 May 2019 (UTC)
These peoples try to fade me has the video and the song on the same page because the audio for the video and the song are both the same, which makes having a visuals page easy. Currently both of the music videos released for the EP have additional segments that differentiate them from their EP counterparts, which I think warrants them having separate "(video)" pages. (or possibly "(music video)" in the case of "Trogdor's Fiery Rage" since otherwise it could be ambiguous.)

The songs could probably be given their own pages since the other album we have a page on does the same. DEI DAT VMdatvm center\super contra 14:30, 11 May 2019 (UTC)
Yeah, that's a good point. I agree. Gfdgsgxgzgdrc 18:43, 11 May 2019 (UTC)
So should I create the pages? Gfdgsgxgzgdrc 00:23, 19 May 2019 (UTC)
Why specifically you? RickTommy (edits) 01:06, 19 May 2019 (UTC)
Because no one else seems to be doing it? No objections here. Lira (talk) 01:44, 19 May 2019 (UTC)
What SRMX12 said. I was planning on doing it anyway, but it occured to me that I should ask first, just in case. And now it's done! Gfdgsgxgzgdrc 02:00, 19 May 2019 (UTC)

Styles

Can someone fill in the "Style" sections on the song pages? I did a few of them, but I'm not very good at genres. Gfdgsgxgzgdrc 05:48, 19 May 2019 (UTC)

I also added a few, and left a few:
 • The Actions You Can Do: Completely stumped on this one. Secret Song is similar in terms of instrumentation, but that's labeled a "Love Song", which is a classification unrelated to instrumentation and which doesn't really fit here.
 • Peasant Spawning (Is Confusion): The genre sounds familiar but it's on the tip of my tongue.
 • Don't Forget to Recharge: I feel like I'd call this the "default Homestar genre" of music but I'm not sure if I can give a name to that genre.
 • Trogdor's Fiery Rage: Brainkrieg seems snarled in classification between "death metal", "grunge", "hardcore punk", and there's even a page that calls it "stoner rock". Unfortunately I don't know enough about those genres to definitively classify it.

Merge Video and Visuals

Right now, the songs with music videos are transcribed twice. Once on the song page, and once on the video page. I think that, instead of transcribing the songs on the video pages, we should put the visuals table there. That way, it would follow OAOO. I think three pages for one song is kind of redundant. Gfdgsgxgzgdrc 05:48, 19 May 2019 (UTC)

On the same topic, I've been debating with myself whether or not I should go back and change the visuals-style Skills of an Artist transcripts for traditional ones, just for consistency. Visuals for music videos usually go on a separate page because they're not easy to transcribe traditionally. Do we have precedent on songs with videos? -- 68.37.43.131 14:20, 19 May 2019 (UTC)
As far as I can tell, we do: Moving Very Slowly (video), It's Like It Was Meant to Be (also a video page), and Secret Song (video) all just transcribe the visuals in their respective pages without using a visuals chart, keeping the song pages separate. All the KaraokeFun pages don't seem to transcribe visuals at all for some reason—except Rock Opera (karaoke) which puts them into the main Rock Opera Visuals page for the original sbemail. If the visuals for these new ones can be transcribed in the same manner then I'd say it's reasonable to follow the precedent of the former three. Trogdor's Fiery Rage has simple enough visuals that it could probably be transcribed on the same page but I'm not sure about Quickstart Overview. DEI DAT VMdatvm center\super contra 16:46, 19 May 2019 (UTC)
Perhaps this might be a good discussion to have in the Wiki Standards talk page for possible inclusion as a standard? (If we want to have a standard way to handle visuals.) ==Stux 17:01, 19 May 2019 (UTC)
Speaking of precedent, the other two Brainkreig songs have visuals pages, so Trogor's Fiery Rage can do the same. For a music video like Quickstart Overview, I think about how we did Rap Song and Trudgemank, where only the lyrics were transcribed and the visuals went on a separate page. That's how I think, anyway. The thing is that the songs DEIDATVM cited started as audio tracks first and the music video came separately later, just like the Trogdor EP, so we have separate pages for those. So I figure our standards should have a separate visuals page for each music video. -- 68.37.43.131 20:46, 19 May 2019 (UTC)
The examples you cited, in my opinion, don't really work as precedents. It seems like you're looking at other songs with the same artists/genres for comparison, but they don't have separate song and video pages like these do, so it's not a fair comparison. These songs are transcribed twice, and I'm saying one of those times is unnecessary and can be replaced with visuals (in a chart or otherwise). I agree with DEIDATVM — we should probably follow the precedents of the first three he mentioned.
Also, I don't think a Wiki Standards discussion is necessary, since we already have a standard way to handle visuals. For music videos, we put them in a chart on a separate page, and for audio songs with videos created later, we put the visuals on the video page (which is what I'm suggesting). This is what I'm suggesting. Gfdgsgxgzgdrc 18:24, 20 May 2019 (UTC)
Now that there are three videos, let's resume the discussion. I don't see any drawbacks to putting the visuals right on the video page. Gfdgsgxgzgdrc 22:34, 17 June 2019 (UTC)

Album template

I thought this album should have a template of its own to match Strong Bad Sings and Other Type Hits. On KickstarterVideos, then, we could just have a single link to Trogdor!!
