That despite Strong Bad saying that, I'm pretty sure Anime wasn't called "Japanimation" at 87. I know this because I was born then, and My eairlest memories of hearing the word anime was around 4 which isn't that far. Furthur more, I saw recordings of shows from 87 and before and they had the name Anime attached to them.

Did the KoT say he hates peas?
 +
 +
Regarding the recent back and forth over whether the King of Town hating peas in different town was an implication or directly said, I had been assuming that his interjection of hating peas was from outside of Strong Bad's imagination and was simply reflected in the in-imagination view that we're shown. Meaning, I assumed that the "real" KoT responds to Strong Bad's song with his interjection, and that's incorporated into the "imaginary" KoT saying it as well. And that would make sense were it not for Strong Sad. I doubt the "real" Strong Sad would interject "I'm evil" into the song, and the ending scene with him dressed as Calibos back in the "real world" seems to make it clear that no one heard SB's song, and that even the interjections were imaginary. Thank you for coming to my TED talk. 22:48, 23 May 2019 (UTC)
 +
:Well, Strong Bad responds to the KoT's "I hate peas!" with "I know!". So Strong Bad "knows" that the KoT hates peas. I just hope that he actually knows, and isn't totally 'stnanken. -- 68.37.43.131 23:05, 23 May 2019 (UTC)

::What Defender said is true, but it still stands that it was outright stated, rather than implied, albeit by SB’s imagination rather than the "real" KoT.  So it’s true that the KoT doesn’t say it, but maybe the fact should be "The King of Town is said [stated? revealed?] to hate peas in different town". -107.77.76.53 23:13, 23 May 2019 (UTC)
 +
:::I always assumed the King of Town does hate peas, since it would be weird for Strong Bad to make that up. However, since we don't know for sure, I think "stated" is probably the best word. It's accurate and not too definitive. 23:44, 23 May 2019 (UTC)
 +
::::I agree with the first half of what Defender said; I always thought that The King reacted in such a way as "but I hate peas! This would be torture." and Strong Bad's response is along the lines of "I know! That's the point." Then he confused me regarding Strong Sad sadly saying "I'm evil.", which I'd say (a) is also a reaction that is well within character, since the horns and a tail in Strong Bad's imagination look far more evil than the ones Strong Sad wore in the end scene, and (b) Strong Bad didn't respond to that, which I'd hazard a guess to say it could hint at this being more within Strong Bad's imagination. In short, I do think the King said he hates peas. 01:58, 24 May 2019 (UTC)
 +
:::::Wait, so you think the "real" KoT said he hated peas, but only the "imaginary" SS said he was evil? Why would one be real and the other not? 02:00, 24 May 2019 (UTC)
 +
::::::I think I was trying to say I wasn't very sure about (b). Continuing the above example, Strong Sad: "Oh well, I guess I'm evil in this version." But I guess he is less likely to show up wearing any horns and a tail if he knows about Strong Bad's song. And I just realized we're only looking at these two examples rather than anyone else, like Strong Mad: "AND ME!" Strong Bad responds to that, fairly within character. He doesn't respond to The Poopsmith, Bubs, Strong Sad, Coach Z, Homestar, or Homsar. And this does have varying ambiguity: I think Strong Sad is more likely to sadly acknowledge his being evil in this version than Homestar is to say he's quitting. 02:22, 24 May 2019 (UTC)

Homestar Runner's chant of "left, right, left, right, right, right, no—" is similar to the description of 50K Racewalker on the Videlectrix games catalog page.

[edit] Nerdiest Diapey

The diaper reference is from the Alphonse Elric character in Fullmetal Alchemist where his apron has been mistaken by the others for a diaper.

[edit] Rotunda

Is it worth mentioning that Strong Bad's saying "rotunda" in the easter egg is a play on "rotund", which means "round" or, in this case, "overweight"? It seems important to know, but I'm not sure if it's too obvious. Heimstern Läufer 18:51, 13 December 2005 (UTC)

I got it the first time, but that's just me. - KookykmanImage:kookysig.gif(t)(c)(r)

[edit] Again, DVD reference...

I don't feel like looking up Marilyn Manso, but we need it in a reference thing. Like we did with the SBemail commentaries.--Robert Benedicio 05:51, 30 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Goof?

I noticed that when Strong Bad pats The Cheat on the head, The Cheat moves a tiny bit. If you look close enough, you can see this. Is it worth mentioning? Sbmaniac 14:30, 18 April 2006 (UTC)

I highly doubt that this is worth mentioning. Thanks for asking before adding, though. — Lapper (talk) 14:33, 18 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] LOTR

Do you think the horn could be a reference to the Horn of Gondor in the Lord of the Rings (movie)?

Actually, I do. First off, does The Cheat's horn make generally the same sound as the one from Lord of the Rings? If so, then I'd definately believe it. Bluebry 17:38, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Should this go anywhere?

That despite Strong Bad saying that, I'm pretty sure Anime wasn't called "Japanimation" at 87. I know this because I was born then, and My eairlest memories of hearing the word anime was around 4 which isn't that far. Furthur more, I saw recordings of shows from 87 and before and they had the name Anime attached to them.

So is this a goof, or a dilberate joke by TBC (Because some people have called it Japanimation, but as far as I remember it was always ANIME") 21:26, 25 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Did the KoT say he hates peas?

— Defender1031*Talk 22:48, 23 May 2019 (UTC)

Well, Strong Bad responds to the KoT's "I hate peas!" with "I know!". So Strong Bad "knows" that the KoT hates peas. I just hope that he actually knows, and isn't totally 'stnanken. -- 68.37.43.131 23:05, 23 May 2019 (UTC)
What Defender said is true, but it still stands that it was outright stated, rather than implied, albeit by SB’s imagination rather than the "real" KoT. So it’s true that the KoT doesn’t say it, but maybe the fact should be "The King of Town is said [stated? revealed?] to hate peas in different town". -107.77.76.53 23:13, 23 May 2019 (UTC)
I always assumed the King of Town does hate peas, since it would be weird for Strong Bad to make that up. However, since we don't know for sure, I think "stated" is probably the best word. It's accurate and not too definitive. e0uZ2kQ.png Gfdgsgxgzgdrc 23:44, 23 May 2019 (UTC)
I agree with the first half of what Defender said; I always thought that The King reacted in such a way as "but I hate peas! The Knights Who Say Ni 01:58, 24 May 2019 (UTC)
Wait, so you think the "real" KoT said he hated peas, but only the "imaginary" SS said he was evil? Why would one be real and the other not? — Defender1031*Talk 02:00, 24 May 2019 (UTC)
I think I was trying to say I wasn't very sure about (b).
