[edit] False positive

From 12:00: "Join us next week when we'll be duct-taping clocks to all kinds of different stuff."

I don't think that actually fits here. Strong Bad is just continuing the home-improvement-show joke. — It's dot com 17:47, 17 August 2006 (UTC)

And what about "Join us next week when we show you how to knit your own splatter paints!"? Elcool (talk)(contribs) 17:53, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
That one should go too. — It's dot com 07:49, 7 April 2010 (UTC)

[edit] Needed?

This seems a little pointless. "Until Next Time" is a very frequent way to end something, and it's not even like TBC ever intended it to be a running gag. Also, I should point out that not all of these are true "Until Next Time"s, like the basics, weird dream and dreamail. Some call it keep. I call it Delete. -User:Essence of Ghost Water

Intentional or no, it's still an interesting pattern. --DorianGray 03:51, 26 March 2010 (UTC)
But as I pointed out, half of the entires aren't actual "Until Next Time..."s. I'd like to all delete those entries that aren't Until Next Time... --Essence of Ghost Water 23:31, 6 April 2010 (UTC)
I've read the entire list, and saw maybe two items that don't go after the pattern of <telling the viewer he will see him at a later period> + <what he or you should be doing in that period, or something that should be remembered until time>. Even after you remove those items from the list, there are still more then 20 others. That way more then enough to make a running gag page.
About the actual phrasing - This is why we listed an example of alternate phrasing ("Join us next week...") in the opening paragraph. The page title itself was chosen because that what Strong Bad said in the earliest emails .
I also believe that TBC did intend this to be a running gag, because up until email #8, almost every SBEmail is listed here. I guess they felt that they shouldn't do it every email, but they still reference it from time to time (more then 25 times, so far).
I countered each of your points in my reply. This is a very sound page, and it's been around for 4 years now. Anything else you would like to add? Elcool (talk)(contribs) 06:08, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
As I said in the thread above, I don't think the "join us next week"s are the same kind of joke as "until next time", and they should be removed. Each entry on this page should have either "until next time" or "until next week" (I'm undecided on "tune in next time/week"). — It's dot com 07:49, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
I tend to disagree. While the phrasing is different, the meaning of the joke is almost the same. See the similar structure I mentioned above. Both phrases are the kind you'd hear in a cheesy TV show and that's the intent of the joke. If we must separate them, then how about putting them under different headers? Elcool (talk)(contribs) 10:42, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
I agree with Elcool that they're all the same type of structure, but disagree with him that they should be put under separate headers for no good reason. — Defender1031*Talk 17:45, 7 April 2010 (UTC)

Keep. This page captured a running gag early on in HR's history. Really this running gag was the only fluid, real joke in the early days. If this page goes, I'm going with it. Keep. Doctorwho295 15 June 2010
I think this is basically just the Email_Outros article, albeit rewritten. BALEET, and merge. Garythesnail 21:50, 4 May 2011 (UTC)
