Question: Why? I mean, are TBC doing work for macromedia now? Is this offical? -James

This is almost certainly official (or else someone can do absolutely perfect Strong Bad and Homestar impersinations). As for why, it may have been commissioned by Macromedia. Someone deleted the Remarks thing about it being considered legit, now that it's in QOTW. Of course we would question it. I mean, it was an EXTREMELY HARD-TO-FIND Easter egg in a program that has no other connection to H*R. It seems fine, but someone could ALWAYS be using acute sound samples. Marshmallow Roast

The article mentions that "this is now considered official hr.com material". It comes a bit out of left field. Can you also explain why someone might think it's not official material?

Capitalization

Can we agree on whether the "Are" is capitalized or not now, already? It's been moved twice here, from Are to are and from are to Are. We need consensus! --TheNintenGenius 15:18, 2 Oct 2004 (MST)

I believe it's standard in American English to decapitalize forms of the word "(to) be" in titles. Of course, if we don't want to get in debates over this kind of stuff, we could use full title case: "Where The Crap Are We?". Contested Fun Fact

• Homestar mentions at the end of the toon that he thinks they're in Massachusetts. Also, in the Easter Egg, he appears to be talking to a "Senator Pencilface". Senator John Kerry is from Massachusetts, and he is sometimes mocked with the name "Pencil-face". Many contest this, saying that The Brothers Chaps wouldn't create a political cartoon, because it simply isn't their style. However, the inferences are just too obvious, and they are right there in the open.

I've decided to add 'Ivan's contested fun fact to the talk page here. I still think it's too shaky to be added, because while there's nothing saying it ISN'T a political reference, there's also nothing saying that it IS. Methinks that most Southerners are quite over and done with any hard feelings about events that transpired 139 years ago and counting. And if they aren't...well...get over it. And if they want slavery back...get over it. Or get out. I'm a historian specializing in the Civil War, and I'm well aware that two Atlanta boys don't give a whit about Yankee vs Dixie feelings. Those in nowheresville, Georgia might. My point is, Southern cities are very much like Northern ones today. I too have never heard Kerry called "Pencil Face." I've heard horse face, but not pencil, so the thought never ocurred to me. And the whole Massachusetts thing...it seems a bit to political for TBC to imply MA is hell, even if they are from the south. Any other political jokes would be a stretch...the main joke imo is that it's funny to hear Homestar pronounce "Massachusetts."

  • In the last sketchbook they had, they also made mention of the unguraits. Maybe they're starting to be more open about their more secret workings? Maybe next week we'll finally find out what Trivia Time officially looks like.
