Too general, maybe?

There's something I don't really like about this page. I mean, it fits the word running gag template, it have enough appearances... but I don't think the sentences are unique enough. What I mean is that Strong Bad talk in a certain way, and therefor uses certain words more then others and this seems to be just part of his regular speech. There is nothing special about it. Try to think of something you say every once in a while and see that everybody does it. It's like making a page for every time Strong Bad say "ohh" (which should have more appearances then this). — Elcool ^(talk)_(contribs) 05:39, 5 September 2009 (UTC)

Yep, I really disliked the idea. No offense, but I say this every day. You know, the kind of thing that is a mundane phrase. I think it is used in places where it makes sense. If definitely was deleted, then this has got to go. (Right now this is where I expect some IP genius to come in yelling: A SPOON! IT'S A SPOON! This does seem like a really generic phrase to me. (You know, the kind that doesn't make a good article.) All jesting aside, there's just nothing that seems particularly noteworthy about the way SB uses the phrase "You know, the kind...". Heimstern Läufer 13:41, 5 September 2009 (UTC)

It's a pattern that TBC use for jokes, in particular for Strong Bad. Maybe they don't know they use it, and do it subconsciously. I actually suspect that's the case, and that's what makes this article interesting to me. I noticed it the day before yesterday as I was watching modeling, and out of curiosity I did a search to see how often the phrase was used. When the results turned out to be in the double digits, it was an obvious next step to list them in an article. — It's dot com 15:38, 5 September 2009 (UTC)

Idc: I agree with you that it's a pattern. That's exactly what I said - It's just how he talks. Everyone does it. But there is no correlation between pattern and page making. Whether the examples are funny or unusual is a matter of opinion, and I disagree on both counts. Furthermore, there is no "just how Strong Bad talks". He's fictional. TBC write his lines. The patterns they use are noteworthy, and there's very much a correlation between those patterns and the articles we make. This article is an analysis of their humor that several readers have stated they find interesting. It's complete to date and easy enough to maintain, and I see no particular reason not to keep it. — It's dot com 05:54, 6 September 2009 (UTC)

I never really noticed the pattern until this article compiled the references. I think it's an interesting enough speech pattern to keep track of. It's a neat and humorous way to explain/describe something. --DorianGray 06:03, 6 September 2009 (UTC)

I really don't see how this page is so unique. It's just like, you know, the kind of page that's just too general. I say this frequently, and I don't see why it's so unique to the Homestar Runner Universe. I really don't see how this phrase is so general. It's four very specific words. In addition, the words themselves, while ordinary out of context, are just the fulcrum of the joke. It's the things that come after "you know" that are ridiculous and that no one would have been expected to have had in mind already. I mean, "You know, the kind that are only sorta hot so they don't mess around with other guys." That's comedy gold. — It's dot com 06:24, 6 September 2009 (UTC)
