Isn't Trogdor a Godzilla referrence? If so, why don't I see it mentioned under real-world referrences? If not, put it there anyway. [[Special:Contributions/65.33.225.225|65.33.225.225]] 12:09, 4 April 2013 (UTC)

Ding! dragon is a featured article, which means it showcases an important part of the Homestar Runner body of work and/or highlights the fine work of this wiki. We also might just think it's cool. If you see a way this page can be updated or improved without compromising previous work, feel free to contribute.

Guitar tabs

does anyone know the tabs for the song?

Mr. Google does. This search gave me this result, this result, this result, and this result. Is that what you were looking for? -- Tom 14:17, 28 Dec 2004 (MST)

Fun Facts

There are some really obvious and non-fun facts in the fun facts section here. I don't know if I'm alone in thinking so, or I'd just delete them. Mila

Commentary

I don't know what TBC are talking about in that commentary...this is one of my favorite emails! And I sing that song all the time. "Trogdor was a man...I mean, he was a dragon man...or...maybe he was just a dragon...but he was still TROGDOOOOOR!!" --68.189.223.40 21:55, 16 Feb 2005 (MST)

  • They were being ironic, obviously. Of course they know how popular the Burninator is. --DG 22:02, 16 Feb 2005 (MST)
    • I believe the word you're looking for is "sarcastic".
      • Sarcasm is a form of irony ("the use of speech to imply something contrary to the literal meaning of what's being said"), unless you're using the not-exactly-correct popular definition ("something contrary to expectations") or the entirely-incorrect Alanis definition ("any funny coincidence"). And this topic is over three years old so there was no point in replying to it. --Jay (Talk) 03:26, 20 July 2008 (UTC)

Closed STUFF

Trodgor was a Motorhead

The main riff to Trogdor's theme song appears to be very similar to the one from the Motorhead song "Shoot You In The Back".

  • Weak decline. Doubtful. "appears to be very similar." So you're not sure whether or not it's similar? I think that TBC just wrote their own stuff. Even if it appears to be similar, that doesn't mean it had anything to do with the creation of the the song. →evin290 21:23, 23 Feb 2005 (MST)

semi-fun fact

I wrote to the Brothers Chaps asking about a possible Emberley influence, and got a reply on on January 13, 2003:

"we learned to draw from the big green drawing book and ed emberley's make a
world. great stuff.
-mike"

Not interesting enough for the main page, perhaps, but it was nice of them to reply. S Gleason 02:49, 23 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Mouth

Is this the only Compy email where we can see Strong Bad's mouth in the Compy reflection? I don't remember it anywheres else. SaltyTalk! 16:04, 14 January 2006 (UTC)

  • If you watch personal favorites, his mouth is visible while he's rocking out at the beginning. This may be the only time it's actually moving when it's reflected but I need to watch more to be sure. -- Frickinsellout 03:40, 25 January 2006 (UTC)

Location?

Where is the 'drawing class' occuring? The wallpaper suggests it's in the Computer Room, but there isn't a table in that room that we've listed (other than SB's computer table) StarLion 15:17, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

I wondered that too... — Defender1031*Talk 15:21, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

The S is for Sucks

Should The S is for Sucks be considered a character in the email?--ONESTOP 16:05, 24 December 2007 (UTC)

Lyribolical disbute

"And their thatched roof COTAGES!!!" Ya sure it isn't "in the thatched roof COTAGES!!!!"? HaldoHelscome!

Explaining the change of a long-standing point...

My reasons for removal of the lighter remark? As follows.
1. Go try it. Seriously. Find a wooden table and hold a lighter to its surface. If you manage to do more than blacken it, I'll give you a hundred bucks. **Discount will not be honored!** Plain wood won't light without kindling, it's simple fact. (Yes, I know there are ways to do it, but they're uncommon, and...)
2. Consider what would happen if the table did go up in flames, as Gron Sad's dragon does. Stro' Bro would have destroyed a piece of furniture which is clearly quite useful to the household. While we can't be sure of which work surface it is, brotha Graw Mad has no qualms with using it, and neither does Coach Zed. My point here is that SB is not likely to destroy the table unless it is explicitly Strong Sad's only, and the scrolling along the screen seems to suggest that all four characters are at one table. (Albeit an admittedly long one.)
3. I am partially removing this on principle; I really think that some other fine wiki member would have removed it already, because of its factual inaccuracy, if not for the fact that it was the article's only link to the Beamer lighter. I have placed a link for this at its mention in the transcript.
Aneh qvestions?--Onamuji (b/w T. C.  ) 06:58, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

Reason 2's kind of irrelevant. The fun fact had nothing to do with it being Strong Sad's table or not. It's not as though he was trying to destroy it. And I don't think the lighter link was the only reason the fact stayed. As you mentioned, holding a lighter to a table would surely blacken it, if not set it on fire. But the lighter doesn't seem to affect the table here at all. So, I think it's worth mentioning, still, if not with the words "catch on fire". (To be explicit, I agree that the wording as was, about the table not catching fire, was not ideal.) -DAGRON 07:20, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

Strong Mad

Isn't Strong Mads "dagron" a reference to the creatures in Pirates of Dark Water? 85.228.165.63 21:01, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

Doubt it. They're likely just both using the same play on "dragon", unrelatedly. (I miss that show.) -DAGRON 21:53, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

Remarks

Ok, the first time I tryed to say this it was very poorly worded, so I want to make sure I have a good remark now.
"Despite Strong Bad critizising Strong Sad's drawing, the drawings at the end were done with Chiaroscuro shading." 76.182.207.195 21:29, 13 May 2012 (UTC)

So what? Strong Bad doesn't criticize Strong Sad for using Chiaroscuro shading, he criticizes him because he hates him. — Defender1031*Talk 10:36, 14 May 2012 (UTC)
That's a good point. Strong Bad wasn't trying to be logical, so it's not really notable. Thanks. 76.182.207.195 00:12, 9 June 2012 (UTC)
