New evolution.

I think Strong Sad has a new look in this email. User:MICGAGUH

No, he doesn't. That happened last week. but, for some reason, he switches between his old and new design. the old one shows up when he films the dead plant. then, when he graps the monopoly money, he has his new, more realistic hands. this goes on throughout the rest of the toon.--Crudely Drawn Cupcake 13:44, 10 August 2009 (UTC)

404'd?

Is anyone else getting 404'd when they try to watch this?--DJmankiewicz 12:22, 10 August 2009 (UTC)

Yep, I definitely am. Even with OpenDNS Servers. ColdReactive 13:01, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
I had to manually change my encoding to UTF-8. There's an accented character in the title bar, and without a proper doctype declaration, some browsers get tripped up. 114.243.125.154 13:27, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
Already Unicode UTF-8 sadly. By the way, How can I change the source of a page I can't see? ColdReactive 13:29, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
You wanna use a proxy. Something like FastBox.86.138.180.185 14:13, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
That page you linked seems to be under construction sadly. ColdReactive 14:16, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
"Fast Box Dot Net: It's Dot Com!" Changed it.
thank you, but the proxy can't seem to show a correct compe email menu. ColdReactive 14:59, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
I can't see either! Maybe it's cause I'm a different time-zone or something. It's pretty early here on the west coast.

I'm also getting 404'd. Furthermore, when I visit homestarrunner.com, there's no mention of a new e-mail on the main page, and the Strong Bad E-mails list is the Corpy Remote with 'imaginary' listed as the most recent. I wonder if this is related to the truncated quote of the day file some of us were getting. Can someone who is successfully loading the site tell us what IP address homestarrunner.com is resolving to? -ReverendTed 14:28, 10 August 2009 (UTC)

I'm getting a 404 error, and the main page says last updated 8/3. and i live about 3 hours from tbc in the same time zone. The Knights Who Say Ni 14:41, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
The IP address resolved to 69.59.23.70 over here.
Here's my feedback from ping in bash, if you're interested.

translation please?
You can access the toon at http://69.59.23.70/sbemail203.swf if you can't access the site via http://homestarrunner.com. Wait...that gives me a bad hostname error...never mind. An IP address, in this case, is the other "name" of the website is. We could have used it to access the Flash file of the sbemail, but here it doesn't work. Strange, I get the same IP address (69.59.23.70). What gives? -ReverendTed 15:32, 10 August 2009 (UTC)

Oh, hey. It's working for me, now, though I did notice that the sbmails menu doesn't come up at all. -ReverendTed 15:38, 10 August 2009 (UTC)

Working for me now too. ColdReactive 17:07, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
yeah, i've got it too. even before the wiki came back up. The Knights Who Say Ni 17:11, 10 August 2009 (UTC)

Error

Strong Sad's finger is screwed up here

So yeah. --Crudely Drawn Cupcake 14:10, 10 August 2009 (UTC)

We got it now. free 14:51, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
I don't see it. --Jay v.2024 (Auld lang syne) 16:51, 10 August 2009 (UTC)

If you do the same thing with your hand, it looks pretty much like SS's hand. There's a crease at the base of the middle finger such that it could look detached, especially in animated form.146.122.71.68 17:00, 10 August 2009 (UTC)

Softer Keypresses

Not sure whether this would be mentioned here, or just on the Compé page, but to me it sounds like the Compé has softer\smoother keypress sounds than previous Compys. -ReverendTed 16:03, 10 August 2009 (UTC)

I noticed that too--Crudely Drawn Cupcake 16:30, 10 August 2009 (UTC)

Choosy users choose single references

"Evil Moms choose Evil Gif" is a play on the sentence "Choosy developers choose GIF", which itself is a play on Jif peanut butter tag line, "Choosy Moms choose Jif"). Choosy developers choose GIF is a rumored sentence that CompuServe Developers, who created the GIF format, said around the office.

Problem is, he says "Moms", not "Developers", which means it's actually closer to the original than the "developers" line (since he pronounces Gif the same way as "Jif"). I say either footnote the "developers" bit or nix it. --Jay v.2024 (Auld lang syne) 16:45, 10 August 2009 (UTC)

Nix it. Both the line from the email and the developers bit are references to the peanut butter, but I doubt the line from the email is intentionally referencing the developers bit. — It's dot com 17:28, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
