This is a place for me to jot down thoughts and ideas that occur to me. You are more than welcome to figure out ways to solve my problems. For the people who are constantly searching for projects but can never find them and so resort to making up new running gags, this is the secret place get you going. Some things here are not project-worthy, but are ways to improve your wiki life.

To do Capitalizing sbemail titles (As of Oct 28, 2006, capital sbemail titles were debated and consensus was to keep as-is) and lowercasing titles that aren't proper nouns may not be the no-nos that most people think they are.

To do Fun facts should be ordered in the same order they occur in the toon. It would be nicer that way.

[edit] July 31, 2006

To do CGNU and mile have interesting things in the SWF file after the end of the email. pom pom also has something interesting that appears offscreen during the email. Find a way to note them best. They're not Easter eggs, but they're remarkable enough to put them in their respective articles.

[edit] August 1, 2006

To do The quality of the Homestar Runner articles on Wikipedia is appalling. I'm sometimes tempted to strip all articles to redirects to "Homestar Runner," and then build it up from there (after discussion, of course). Especially bad is List of Homestar Runner characters. What a mess. I don't want to go through the effort of fixing everything, and since we already have a great encyclopedia here that is nearer to perfection than HR articles on WP will be, it's just like violating once and only once.

  • We need more HRWiki namespace articles regarding policy and other circumstances:
To do I've on-and-off fought with myself about how legal/ethical it is to document DVD content. We may need an HRWiki-namespace page rationalizing that for easy reference, and just to make me feel better.

[edit] August 8, 2006

To do I noticed this on Mangojuice's user page on Wikipedia: "Reminders to myself: (1) Coverage on Wikipedia is much better than its quality. I should strive to improve the quality of wikipedia, it's a job not enough people are doing. (2) Wikipedia covers lots of articles on unencyclopedic crap. I will accept this and not waste my time fighting it. (3) Focusing too much on deletion is a bad but tempting thing. (4) Do your real work, don't waste all your time here. I mean it."

[edit] August 19, 2006

To do Edit summaries such as "update" may seem descriptive enough when updating a running gag page, or toon/sbemail pages with Template:toonnavfulllink and Template:sbenav, to include the latest toon, but that edit summary is less than helpful. Updating what? Instead, try "/* Appearances */ [[Latest Toon Name]]" or "updating navigation link to include [[Latest Toon Name]]."

[edit] August 21, 2006

To do April Fool's 2006 glitches need to be sorted into sub-subsections to show which post-Flipper glitches still haven't been fixed.

[edit] October 15, 2006

To do I had the idea to make a page or subpage which calculates how much time it would take to view the entire Homestar Runner body of work. Or did somebody already do that? Oh well, don't let me forget. Update November 30, 2006: I found this forum thread, but I'll read it later, just like everything else on this page.

[edit] November 1, 2006

To do On many occasions it's been noticed that the lines between characters' imaginations and reality are blurred. Often times what is thought up somehow turns real in a later scene or toon. Someone should collect all of the times that's happened. Article worthy? Maybe; we'll worry about that one later. Famous examples include the fingers from fingers and The Goblin from Homestarloween Party.

[edit] November 8, 2006

To do Confirm the Store Thank You message times.

[edit] April 29, 2007

  • Being a fan can be dangerous. You could lose your head.

[edit] May 24, 2007

To do Having a the occasional Did You Know? add-on section to the Main Page would be nice, especially for the candid wiki viewers who never step foot on recent changes. Such DYK blurbs could be about: the subtitles project, filename redirects, and other good stuff like that.
