• Email pom pom — Pom Pom's fighting style is similar to Kirby's fighting style in the Super Smash Bros. series, with combo and Smash attacks.
• Weekly Fanstuff — The March 13, 2008 item is a Trogdor-shaped stage created with Brawl's Stage Builder.
• @StrongBadActual:
  • Strong Bad replies to a fan tweet showing a mod for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U that replaces Ike with robot pants Strong Bad from 8-bit is Enough.
  • Strong Bad claims he "Stinkomain[s]", referring to the character that one primarily uses in Smash.
  • Strong Bad "vote[s] yes one million" to being a character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. However, in a later Tweet, he refers to the game as "Super Smashy Towne Ultra-mint", and says he wishes he was a character, but assumes people think he has a chance because of Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People.

• The Jolly Dumple may be named after the Water Dumple, a Pikmin enemy.
• Weekly Fanstuff — The animation in the November 29, 2007 Fanstuff has Reynold pull out a blue Pikmin.

• Population: Tire — The page title is "I FEEL ASLEEP!", a quote from the original Metal Gear for the NES.
• @StrongBadActual — Stinkoman says "I FEEL ASLEEP!" in a teaser for Level 10 of Stinkoman 20X6.

Sonic the Hedgehog

• Awexome Cross — The Cheat in the tire does a "Spin Dash" between each level after being refuelled by Strong Mad, as Sonic the Hedgehog does.
• Stinkoman 20X6 — After defeating The Liekand in Level 6, it transforms into a mouse. This may be a reference to the Sonic the Hedgehog series, in which defeated enemies almost always revealed their power sources, which were various animals.
• Kick-a-Ball — Homestar calls "Sonic! I mean, Tails!" on the coin toss, referencing Sonic the Hedgehog, and his sidekick Miles "Tails" Prower.
• Poker Night at the Inventory — Strong Bad compares Tycho's hair to "a greasy hedgehog... unassociated with any video game license", referring to the Sonic the Hedgehog series.
• @StrongBadActual — Strong Bad mentions Casino Night Zone, a level from Sonic the Hedgehog 2.

• Email japanese cartoon (DVD commentary) — When Stinkoman laughs at 1-Up, Matt Chapman mentions the steam clouds that come out of villagers' heads when they are angry.
• Pulse Interview - 1 Aug 2003 — Matt says that Missy Palmer was into Animal Crossing when it was released. It was because of this that The Brothers Chaps decided to make their Videlectrix games simple.
• @StrongBadActual — Strong Bad mentions wanting to beat the crap out of Tom Nook.

• Nintendo Voice Chat Interview - 3 Sep 2008 — Strong Bad says that he has been playing Wii Fit with the intent of tricking his girlfriends into playing video games.

• 8-Bit is Enough — If Strong Bad misses a ghost in Redcoat Ghost Patrol, The Cheat will pop up from behind a bush and laugh at him, in a manner very reminiscent of the dog from Duck Hunt.

• Main Page 13 — The sound effect for Strong Bad disappearing, as well as the sound for highlighting "Downloads", are taken from the Atari 2600 version of Pac-Man.
  • Email ghosts The latter sound effect plays for the text that appears after "killing" the Bad Graphics Ghost.
  • Everything Else, Volume 3 — The latter sound effect is used on the "Other Features" menu.
• TROGDOR! — The intermission part with Trogdor chasing the peasants is a resemblance to the arcade game Pac-Man when he chases the ghosts during the intermission.
• Email the facts — The tune that Homestar Runner sings to in the Easter egg is the same tune as the intermission theme from Pac-Man.
• Email web comics — The Secret Collect. cartoon is a parody of the Pac-Man cartoon.
• Baddest of the Bands — The plot of the game is caused by Strong Bad's broken FunMachine, which causes his copy of Limozeen's Hot Babelien Odyssey to show a glitched screen similar to Pac-Man's "kill screen".
• 8-Bit is Enough — When approaching the lake in Peasantry, Homestar will refer to various fruits and "power dots", the collectible items in Pac-Man.
• Halloween Safety — In an Easter egg, Crack Stuntman takes the form of Pac-Man while explaining he's the new spokesperson for HalloweenSafety.gov.

• Email homestar hair (DVD commentary) — Matt comments that Strong Bad may be playing Final Fantasy, not Temple of Apshai.
