[edit] Hello. I'm... humbled. Feel free to leave messages.

Yo, TYD. Mind if I copy that Fanstuff Wiki userbox on my page? (PS< Check out that page. IT ROCKS> Same Username, though.) Thanks! -WeirdAl (talk · 22:23, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

Of course. It's free on the HRWiki:Userbox page. --TheYellowDart(t/c) 22:26, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Calling Subtitles

{Moved from User talk:Addict 2006 as suggested in HRWiki:Talk page etiquette.}

I know I'm off topic, but... can I call the Transcript on this one? --TheYellowDart(t/c) 23:08, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

No, you can't, as I already said two posts above yours. Work on this wiki is done "first come, first served". Loafing 23:21, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
But but but but... there's those templates where it says "Whoev is currently working on this section...". Please? *gives "the lip"* I always wanted to do one. --TheYellowDart(t/c) 23:24, 19 February 2007 (UTC) "mrmpfh"? Nice. Are you obsessed with onamonapias?
Yes, you can use one of those if you are currently working on one. These notices are not used to reserve sections or pages in advance. If you put such a notice up but do not actually make any edits for a while, the notice will be removed to give somebody else a chance. And yeah, I use onomathingies when I'm lost for words or if what I want to say is not G rated ;-) Loafing 23:29, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
Well, then I'm not moving until that email is released and then I'm calling it!! ;-) --TheYellowDart(t/c) 23:32, 19 February 2007 (UTC) G Rated? roffle!
(I moved this section to your talk page, because it's got nothing to do with Addict anymore) Yup, that seems how it's been done some of the last times. Personally, I think that's a bit early since the subtitles should be based on the transcript (which will take about an hour), but hey, if you want to work twice as hard, that's fine by me ;-) Loafing 23:38, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
Meh, I don't want the subtitles, just the transcript. --TheYellowDart(t/c) 23:53, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
Oops, yes, you actually said that... How did I miss that? Yes, then calling it as soon as the toon is out is exactly the way to go. Make sure you use {{transcriptinprogress|Theyellowdart}} :-) Loafing 23:58, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Just Stoppin' By

Hey, TYD. Just wanted to say that I really like the direction you're heading in, now. I was getting really annoyed with some of your antics before the STUFF incident, and I'm very pleasantly surprised by your new attitude. You're making good edits again, and I do hope you'll keep that up. I'm surprised to say that, but it's good to have you back! Keep on trangling, Loafing 02:50, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

Ah, for real? I thought I was getting annoying too... if that... makes sense. I think I needed the block so I could rethink of what I was doing. Hey, thanks Loaf. --TheYellowDart(t/c) 02:58, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Here's your chance

If you're fast, you can claim the transcript for the new sbemail. Just put the text {{subst:newsbemail|167}} at the movies, save the page, and put {{transcriptinprogress|Theyellowdart}} in the "Transcript" section. Good luck! Trey56 06:32, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

Ah, darn. I had to go to bed. It was like... 11:00 PM... when I went to sleep. That email came out way too late. Maybe next time. I'll get you Philip!!!!!!!!!! --TheYellowDart(t/c) 16:16, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, I wasn't sure if you'd still be awake. Like any sensible person, you went to bed at a reasonable hour :) Maybe some other time! Trey56 18:39, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, so... what time did the email come out? You live in Illinois, so you are in the same time zone as me. --TheYellowDart(t/c) 21:36, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
Around 12:30 AM CST, I believe. Trey56 04:59, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
That's the commitment I have to make to get a transcript or new character (Mr. Slashyman for instance)? Stay up 'til 12:30? Tomfoolery!!!
Drippingyellowmadness CoolS.png talk 00:48, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

Well, the pages for certain items or minor characters usually don't think of getting made until a while after the toon comes out. For example, I just made Styleron Ecochair and Ethical Chick'n Beaks, when the chair came out ages ago. Usually, when I'm bored, I hit random page over and over until I find a toon containing something pageworthy. Give it a try, sometime ;) Dr. Clash 00:51, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

Hey it is funny how you should say that, Clash, because that is what I mainly do for a new page. But it is usually minor stuff. Y'know, like Strong Bad's Towel or Booth 101. I mean, that is pure "random page-button-hitting". ;-) --TheYellowDart(t/c) 02:23, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] signature help again

Is my sig to big/ how can I make it smaller? Drippingyellowmadness CoolS.png talk 21:54, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

No, actually it is rather small. If you want to make the picture smaller, just put the desired number of pixels with "px" following it. Here, like this: [[Image:Example|16px]] --TheYellowDart(t/c) 23:41, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] subst welcomes

You might want to consider adding "subst:" when you welcome new users. Occasionally welcome templates will be blanked by a new user trying to remove the message from their talk page, so it can save you a bit of trouble. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 21:19, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the advice. :-) --TheYellowDart(t/c) 21:44, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Stress meter

Hey that's pretty cool. can I have your permission to use these five pics for my facebook profile? DeFender1031 00:39, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

Yes, yeah, of course! I didn't make it. Many users use it. Go right ahead! --TheYellowDart(t/c) 00:41, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
thanks dude you rock!
Thanks. You are being added to my Cool Peeps list.  :-) --TheYellowDart(t/c) 00:50, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

(carriaqge return) ok, i'll take it. And now, to bed. So until tomorrow, keep having a cool people list (like sys-op, ahem), and i'll keep trying to get on it. I mean, respect the people on it. DeFender1031 00:57, 4 March 2007 (UTC) Ps. I am half asleep and have no idea what i'm typing, as indicated by my changelog summary.

[edit] Shouting

Theyellowdart, it doesn't help us much that you feel the need to shout on Dot com's page each time we have a persistent vandal at Fanstuff. Try a more central location, possibly HRWiki talk:WikiTroll. And please keep calm in your reports. Thanks. Heimstern Läufer 20:29, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

TYD: Thanks for the heads up, but if you shout on my talk page or in an edit summary like that again, I'll block you. Cheers. — It's dot com 20:41, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
Guys I am terribly sorry. It's just that the system operators at Fanstuff are usually slow, and I panic. Thanks, and I will never do it again. --TheYellowDart(t/c) 00:04, 8 March 2007 (UTC) You would block me? O.o
Yes, I understand that they tend to be slow there, and yes, it's a perfectly good idea to let us know, as Dot com said. But don't shout. It doesn't do any good. A perfectly calm edit summary, such as "vandalism at Fanstuff", will get sysops' attention just as well, and it won't make them want to block you. Heimstern Läufer 00:08, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
Oh, and by the way, IRC is much more effective for this sort of thing. If you can't go on IRC, I understand, but just thought it'd be good to let you know. Heimstern Läufer 00:11, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
Okay, yes, thank you. Please pardon my idiocy. I appreciate every morsel of advice. --TheYellowDart(t/c) 00:12, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Forum Probs...HELP!

I tried registering for the Forum (ie: filled out all the feilds, etc.) but I never got the confirmation email. And I can't try registering again becuase when I do it says someone (me) already has that email address!!!!! TYD, can you help me out here?????? (And I checked...NO, there is NOTHING about this on the Forum FAQ.) WeirdAl (talk · 15:55, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

Are you sure you gave them the right email address? Sometimes spelling mistakes can really backfire. My advice is: ask another user that goes to the forum (like Shwoo), or create another email address (like from yahoo for example). You might of made a spelling mistake. Hope this helps, TheYellowDart(t/c) 16:38, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

Hellote, The Yellow Dart. +5 nickname still cool! I see you're looking for a Firefox logo. I suggest going to Wikipedia's article on Firefox, then hotlink the image, or download it then upload it to HRWiki since there aren't any similar pictures uploaded yet. — SamSF%20sig.jpgFisher (Come in, Lambert.) 18:15, 11 March 2006

Thanks. Sorry, I forgot to reply, but, yeah. The userbox turned out quite nicely. --TheYellowDart(t/c) 02:52, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Commentary transcripts

Nice work on the commentary transcripts — I didn't look at them too closely, but we've sorely needed those for a while! Trey56 01:17, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

Thanks. I am borrowing the DVD from Parp11, and uh... I was planning to do a few more, but... I'm tired. I'll do one more for tonight. --TheYellowDart(t/c) 01:35, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Age

Hey, TYD. I saw a [conversation] where you thought I was 40 or above. Well, no. I'm not. I am close though. But don't start digging a hole just yet, k? ;) Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 23:43, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

Oh, yeah, that. Sorry, but it was my best guess. *fills hole in*. Peace! --TheYellowDart(t/c) 01:31, 18 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] WOW!!!

WOW!!! You sure did write a lot of pages. I just wanted to say WELL DONE!! You put a lot of effort into those pages. Anyways, maybe we could work together in the future. With your expirence, we could make a lot of pages. Thank you for listening, Sam the Man {{P.S...the bird is a Compy 386 email just to tell you.}}

Thank you. But if I remember right, the bird is from a Pom Pilot email. But, it is in the Tandy era. ;-) --TheYellowDart(t/c) 01:30, 18 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Strong Bad Allegiance

Oh hey. This is Sam the Man. I was just wondering if you wanted to join the Strong Bad Allegiance. Brightstar Shiner said that you might like to join this thing. If you would like to join, please leave me a messege under Strong Bad Allegiance on my talk page. User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man And I would like to be on that list.

She was right. I'm a sucker for cute little clubs. Count me in. --TheYellowDart(t/c) 01:38, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Spam

I need to bring up these two talk page edits you made, which are identical. Please don't spam the sysops' talk pages. I will address the issue you brought up, but in a case like this, where there is no immediate danger, a better course of action would be to send an email or try to contact us via some other means. — It's dot com 23:44, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

I know better, and I apologize. But, my reason for doing so was to make sure that if one user didn't get the message, there will be a backup. But, then again, you are right. It wasn't any dangerous. --TheYellowDart(t/c) 00:11, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
And you know - someone might have told you this before... - IRC is a good place to come and cry wolf ;-) Loafing 00:12, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
I don't know how to work the IRC, though.... --TheYellowDart(t/c) 00:13, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
I had to learn it at first as well. It's not that hard! If you have absolutely no clue, you can always just click this link: chat.hrwiki.org. Talk atcha later! Loafing 00:19, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
Hey, TheYellowDart. I was notified of your objections and I apologize for offending you, even if unintentional. I didn't realize the Wiki article on *grumbles* that I linked to was, um, illustrated. I've done some sanitizing of my user page and hope I addressed everything. But I have no idea what made you want to throw up. Let me know if it's still there! --BigScaryMike 01:06, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
Well, it was, that part about lusting. Ugh. Well, I forgive you, and happy editing! ;-) --TheYellowDart(t/c) 02:46, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Some help, please.

Dear Mr. Dart, First, I would like to say that I admire you as much as I admire Strong Bad. With that out of the way, I would like to request your help. You might remember me from Welcoming me on the Welcoming Committee (even thought I doubt you do). I am Collin Diver. I'm trying to be more active in the knowledge community, and I would like some advice from you. Since we all have to be small before we get tall, you were once in the same boat as I am now. I would appreciate your input. If you could, please comment on my talk page [[1]].

Thank you for your time. --Collin Diver 01:02, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

Replied on your talk page. :-) --TheYellowDart(t/c) 01:53, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
Thank you for your advice! I will try to accomplish what you suggested. Later! --Collin Diver 11:54, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

Yes, unfortunately I do remember. See you around. --TheYellowDart(t/c) 23:06, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] QOD Archive

Uhh, I'm still trying to learn how to use these talk pages, but anyway, why can you have an archive of past "quotes of the week"? I tried to do that but it got DELETED! because it broke profile rule stuff. (In case it doesnt say my name at the end, this is from Homestar-winner

Uhm, my guess is that simply nobody has noticed yet ;-) Sorry, TYD, have a look at the guidelines. Maybe you'll find some space on your user page or talk page where you can archive the quotes instead. Sever your leg, please! Loafing 00:45, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
Sorry, guys. When I read the guidelines, I didn't read close enough. When it said archives... Anyway, I will create the archive in my talk or userpage right now. --TheYellowDart(t/c) 14:31, 24 March 2007 (UTC) May I please keep my leg? ;-)
No biggie. It's the greatest day! Loafing 14:39, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

Well, now I know. Thanks guys! It is the greatest day, isnt it? I'm gonna go get a blue one now. Homestar-winner 16:59, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Again needing help

TYD- I was going on to the wiki and I realized that there was a new cartoon after checking the h*r site. I want to be able to make that page- do the details like the transcript. How do you make a new page to do this? --Collin Diver 22:39, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

It's a little late, but here: Okay, first, type in the name of the cartoon on the search. Then, press, "create this page", and there you go. --TheYellowDart(t/c) 23:22, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
Thank you very much! Cya around! I'll keep this in mind... --Collin Diver 11:56, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Wiki-break

*I am thinking about one. What do you guys think? Should I? Vote below!

My vote depends on your reasons — why are you thinking of taking one? I'm sure nobody will say that they want you to take a break, unless that's what's best for you right now! Trey56 20:57, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
Well... I think I need to focus on my *grumble* schoolwork more since I should be thinking of my future about now and everything. I make B averages, but... meh. --TheYellowDart(t/c) 20:59, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
Hmm... You could always set yourself limits, like designate a couple hours in the evening during which you'll work on the wiki (perhaps only on certain days). Or, you could resolve to only edit the wiki after that day's homework is done, etc. Those kinds of boundaries require a lot of self-discipline for success, so if that doesn't work out, maybe a break is the answer... Schoolwork/future stuff is definitely a bigger priority, but we'd love to have you around as much as you're able to be :) Trey56 21:10, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for the advice. (You sound like my parents! :P) But, it is not just the wiki. I do YouTube, Wikipedia, Uncyclopedia, Super MArio Wiki, a blog, etc. I just think I need to take a break for a while... like a week or two. --TheYellowDart(t/c) 21:16, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
Dude, if you feel like you need to take a break, then take a break. It's your decision, not ours. Loafing 21:19, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Bennedetto for Featured Article 15?

Hi, Theyellowdart. Thanks for reverting the "test" for the current featured article #15. It appears there was no plan for this week. Any ideas for a good one? I remember you were pushing Cool Tapes and we could go with that. Otherwise, I'm thinking that the vandal might be on to something with Frank Bennedetto. —THE PAPER PREEEOW 00:40, 9 April 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, we need to decide fast. I'd say Cool Tapes, but it is alright if we choose something else. --TheYellowDart(t/c) 01:09, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
I see. Right now it's between that and Da Vanci's Notebook. Both are musical groups! Either one would be fine with me, but I'd like to come to a consensus soon. —THE PAPER PREEEOW 01:22, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
Da Vinci's Notebook is fine, on account of Has Matt already set it all up. --TheYellowDart(t/c) 01:26, 9 April 2007 (UTC)

  • Trey, you are correct! Good jorb. Stay tuned for another one next week! :D --TheYellowDart(t/c) 21:19, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
    • Sorry, Dartman (or should I say "Dartmouth"? teehee!) I agree with Loafing on this one. The KOT dressed up as Mario in Pumpkin Carve-nival was more obvious a reference then Homestar wearing a Snifit mask. I actually never knew that he was wearing one until I read this.

Arguingly yours, Pants 3000 22:22, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

It's a different game though — Super Kingio Brothers is a direct reference to Super Mario Bros. 1, whereas Theyellowdart's screenshot is from Super Mario Bros. 2. Trey56 23:07, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
