Reverts

I would like to help out the site. Can you tell me how a revert works? Marth 99

Sure I can! When a page has been trolled or had a bad edit made, the simplest way to change it back is to revert it. Each page has a history of every edit made to it, see. Up at the top, you'll notice a little tab marked "history" (it's the fourth from the left, usually). Click on that and it'll bring up a page of all the edits made to that page, most recent ones on the top. Find the version you want to change it back to and click the date for that version. This will bring that version up in the window for editing. Just type "reverted" or "rv" (or "rv/v" for vandalism) ito the edit summary box beneath it and hit "save page". And that will correct the whole page! I hope that helps. If not, check out the Help pages for more information. --DorianGray

Hey, I just saw that I'm on your cool people list! That's great! But I wanted to let you know about a couple problems in your description of me. First, contrary to popular belief, I'm American, not German. I just speak German. I've lived in the USA (California and Oregon) my whole life. Secondly, I was wondering if you might reword the part about me being a "protector of trolling", because it makes it sound like I protect trolls, not that I protect the Wiki from them. Here's my story: A long time ago, a child (me) discovered Homestar Runner. As he got older, CERTAIN PEOPLE told him that he shouldn't go on anymore, because he had outgrew it. While you were out...

Just thought that you might like to know. On 2/9, around 5:00 PM Eastern time, a vandal showed up (eventually blocked by Firebird). Several of us reverted the vandalism and all is well now. Just thought that you might like to know. LePorello / T / C 01:32, 10 February 2006 (UTC)

To answer what you posted on my talk, it was Dr. Who. He attacked originally just the H*R themed pages, but went after the reverting users. I got hit twice (3 more times today), KieferSkunk twice, DorianGray at least once (I think), and ACupofCoffee at least once. He would change pages to say:

"Greetings from Dr. Who!! Wish you was here!!! If you ban me, I'll just go vandalize someone else's wiki! Have you got one? You could be next!!!"

I saw in the edit history of your userpage that you added the "Banned for Life" list, with me/Yeltensic on it (referring to me/Yeltensic as "the guestbook vandal") before I/Yeltensic was ever banned for guestbook-related vandalism.
