[edit] Some links to help get you started

Here are some resources to help familiarize yourself with the Homestar Runner Wiki:

  • Before you do any significant editing, be sure to read our wiki standards and our other policies.
  • If you need general information, editing tips, or answers to frequently asked questions, check out the various help pages.
  • To practice editing, head over to the sandbox.
  • If you have a question that isn't addressed on a help page, you can ask it on the FAQ talk page.

To get plugged in to the community:

  • Let us know a little bit about yourself on your user page. (Please see the rules and guidelines for your user space first.)
  • If you're not sure what you can do to help out, head over to The Stick.
  • If you're looking for more community interaction, you can also register over at our forum, or if you're feeling creative, you can register separately at the fanstuff wiki.
  • If you see an update on homestarrunner.com that isn't listed on the Main Page, put it up here.
  • To sign and timestamp a post on a talk page, type four tildes (~~~~).
  • Above all, be sure to be bold and have fun!
The information above is provided as a service upon registration. Once you have checked out all the links, please feel free to delete it.

[edit] Signing Talk Page Posts

Hello Physicsguymonsterman, and thanks for contributing to the HRWiki. When adding comments to a Talk page, you should always sign with your user name and the current time and date. If you place four tildes like these ~~~~ at the end of your post, they will automatically be replaced with your signature and the current timestamp. You can find more info here. Thanks. [edit] Making links

Hi! Just thought I'd advise you that, to make a link to another page, you use [[square brackets]], like [[Homestar Runner]] for Homestar Runner. You only use {{curly brackets}} when you're including a template, like {{tobediscussed}} for the template tobediscussed (for proposing that an article might not need its own page). -- Mithent 17:08, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] New talk page threads

Hi, Physicsguymonsterman. When you start a new topic on a talk page, you should put it at the bottom of a page, not the top. The easiest way to do this is to click the little button next to "edit" that has a + in it; this will automatically start a new thread. Keep on tranglin'! Heimstern Läufer 00:01, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] My reverting

Hey, Physicsguymonsterman, sorry if my revert of your edit made you angry. But just so you know, I never did think it was vandalism. And by the way, that image is a funny picture of Homestar! Hope to see you around! Homestar-Winner (talk) 00:08, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] I'm a friendly reminder....

Just as a warning, the more that you sign edits like this, the less likely you will become a sysop. Check over the FAQ, especially entry #9 for more info. wbwolf (t | ed) 14:24, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks

hanks for changing my post on the The Homestar Runner Gets Something Stuck In His Craw. You know, about mensioning Coach Zee saying job.

[edit] Show Preview

Hi. I noticed there are some pages you edited at least three consecutive times. I would like to reccomend that you start using the "show preview" button located in between the "save page" and "show changes" buttons. It saves the time usually spent clicking "edit" and then "save page" and then "edit" again, and also prevents flooding of Special:Recentchanges. Keep on tranglin' (or however you say it). [edit] About your...

...recent edit, along with your description for the change "Its called "fun Facts" non fun random bogus speculation." Although we hadn't changed our discussion about it on the talk page for a while, nobody else had any objections to it. Although I know you were just being bold, please don't use such harsh language on your edit summaries. DevonM(talk·cont-ribs) 02:50, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

I'm sorry, but I just went back to the Recent Changes, and saw you'd made another edit and used the same harsh edit summary. Again, please refrain from using these types of edit summaries. Although I agree with the edit you made, and think it was more of a reference to the The Best Decemberween Ever, please don't be so hard on the users that made those edits.
