Welcome

Welcome to the Homestar Runner Wiki, Png guy. Good jorb with optimizing those PNGs! Which tool are you using? Loafing 09:17, 10 June 2007 (UTC)

I use an exe called PNGOUT[1] which was created by the Ken Silverman, creator of the Build engine used in Duke Nukem 3D, amongst other games. PNGOUT is excellent at optimizing PNGs if you use the right settings. Unfortunately, it doesn't check EVERY possible combination of settings for the smallest file size. That part I have to do myself. Well, there's your answer.

The Iron Cup

The coveted Iron Cup

Hey there, Png guy. Just wanted to let you know that your efforts at optimizing the size of PNG files have been noticed — you've greatly reduced the size of over 110 images! As a result, I'm awarding you the Iron Cup of Brunswich Stew. From HRWiki:Barnstars,

This award, the first on HRWiki, is given to recognize good contributions and to let people know that their hard work is seen and appreciated. It was given to The Cheat by Strong Bad for his good work on New Boots.

Thanks again for your hard work — decreasing the size of images helps minimize the amount of unnecessary data transfer and translates into real savings for the wiki. (I don't know how much, but I'm sure it helps!) See you around, and keep it up! Trey56 20:31, 17 June 2007 (UTC)

Thank you very much. Png guy 06:18, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
