Your project

Hey, Stev0. Before you get into a really big project like the one you're doing now, you really ought to discuss it with the community first. It's possible that there's a reason we don't already have those categories and that we won't actually want to have them, and if so, it's going to be lot of work to undo. I'm stopping for now, but in case anyone is interested, the reasons I did it:

1. I noticed that several of the character variations were listed in the Main Character category. Technically, they're not Main Characters: there's only 12 of them!

2. I noticed a lot of things that involve specific characters (eg, Strong Bad's shirts) aren't obviously linked to said characters. (I'm not saying they're not linked - it's just not obvious).

Note 1: I did NOT link the categories to Main Characters (yet) because I wanted to see how it would look and what other folks thought first. If people DO like it, then they could be put in the Main Characters category.

Note 2: If people don't like it, it would be easy enough to go through each category, edit the articles, and take them out.

Note 3: If people DO like it, there are a couple of Poopsmith articles that should be categorized, and the entire Homsar category (and there's probably only a half dozen or so articles for that one). If I seriously screwed up something, I'm sorry. Stev0 09:59, 23 December 2010 (UTC)

When I first saw the recent changes flood, I feared for the worst, or at least the not best. But looking at the categories, I think they're probably useful and wonder why we didn't have them before. What I'd do is start a thread on the projects page so we can discuss it (basically rubber-stamping what you've already done) and then go from there. — It's dot com 14:22, 23 December 2010 (UTC)

I finished it up (Really, the Poopsmith and Homsar didn't have many articles). If it looks good to everyone, the character categories should be linked to the Main Characters category. Stev0 02:46, 27 December 2010 (UTC)
