Nitpicking...

About your edit, a couple = two. You would say that a boyfriend and girlfriend are a couple, yes? And that's two people. So, yeah. No big deal, your reword was probably better anyway. -- Super Martyo boing! 21:58, 26 July 2008 (UTC)

This is the exact reason why I changed the word "couple"; it's too vague and can be interpreted differently by different people. For some people (like me), the word "couple", in some cases, can mean anything from two to, say, half a dozen, even though, it seems, this is not an accurate interpretation. I'm pretty impressed that you bothered to come all the way to my talk page just to tell me this. It's always lonely over here. – The Chort 14:47, 29 July 2008 (UTC)

Minor edits

Hi! Just dropped in to leave another nitpicky note on your talk page ;-) Sorry if it's pretentious of me to say so, but I've noticed you tend to use the "minor edit" checkbox for a lot of edits that I don't consider minor, such as adding or removing content from mainspace articles. In particular, I wouldn't mark an edit as minor just because it's a reversion if the edit is removing some content — no matter how dubious or recently added the content was. (Vandalism, meh, that's another thing). In my opinion, anything more than syntax, spelling, making a link, or very slight rewordings shouldn't be marked as minor. I know there's no strict rules around here or anything — just wanted to throw that out there for your consideration. I probably err on the side of not marking things as minor as frequently as maybe I ought to. You seem to be a great editor. ;-)  Green Helmet 00:11, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

Unfortunately, I do not hand out my email address to strangers on the Internet, like free cookies at the supermarket. And if you do have a problem, wouldn't the sysops be more useful anyway? I am but a simple Wikignome who just edits the main articles on a regular basis to help improve the overall quality of the Wiki. – The Chort 14:26, 10 August 2008 (UTC)

In fact, I even tried to enter the fanstuff Wiki, but for some reason, it has a 20X6 Level 10 advertisement image with two links(Note: Both links do not take you to the new Wiki.) This is despite the fact that you have no idea when either products will be released. Personally, the fact they're comparing the wait for Fanstuff to the wait for the final level of 20X6 (which was last updated over 3 years ago) says it all. – The Chort 20:35, 26 December 2008 (UTC)

Unfortunately, the intrinsic quality of the original Fanstuff Wiki, which is now derelict, is probably the almost exact duration of when the 20X6 final level update has been totally abused. So, I am identically sure that the advertisement's duration may be as long as the original Fanstuff Wiki's existence[sic]. In other words, I am as sure as you are about the update being over 3 years ago. Flash

Dear Fangoriously, (can I just call you Fangy?) when I say that you're "not supposed to watch the Flash file", what I'm trying to say is that all the cartoons on homestarrunner.com are designed to be watched via the HTML link. This is why anything that's missing or present "behind the black" (i.e. off-screen) due to laziness is not considered to be a Goof because no one is actually supposed to see it anyway; all the visitors to the website are supposed to be watching the toon at the correct page, not the Flash file. Of course, there's nothing stopping you from watching the Flash file (which I also frequently do), but if you're editing the wiki article at the same time, you need to remember to disregard anything that you would not have seen if you were watching the HTML version (i.e. anything behind the black). TBC have talked about this in a few interviews and public appearances, such as here and here. – The Chort 18:14, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

Good Jorb

I noticed you made a few image edits, nicely done. A couple of things I'd like to point out to keep in mind so that we can make the image summaries super-perfect; one, if there's anything bold, it probably doesn't need to be; and two, link everything you can, including (and especially) inside references made in the picture. I think you mean "weeks" as opposed to "days", but I'll do my best to help out whenever I can. Just one thing, though, is it really OK to remove the bold tags? For as long as I can remember, we always used bold tags in the image summaries. Surely this is an established standard by now and to remove those three little lines would cause some confusion? – The Chort 18:25, 2 March 2009 (UTC)

There's no standard to the bold tags. The image policy says nothing about them. Also i've noticed that there's no consistancy to them. Some of them are bolding the subject of the image, others bold the source... Hey The Chort. Thanks for cleaning up those image summaries. If you would, please use an edit summary with "image summary cleanup" spelled out. Months or years from now, no one reading the histories is going to remember what "ISC" stands for (and indeed I'm just guessing right now). One, I'm using bog standard IE, which apparently makes me an evil human being. I assume you're using Firefox, perhaps with one of those Greasy scipt things I've heard about? In any case, my status quo ensures that I won't be able to change my browser until I get my own laptop. Two, computers only allow you to copy and paste one thing at a time and I always end up overwriting. Do you have a magic computer that allows you to copy more than one thing or are you just more careful than me? And so failing all that, I could always, you know, use the keyboard. – The Chort 21:00, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

Nope, I use IE7 most of the time, same as you. To enable the feature, go to Tools → Internet Options → Content → AutoComplete → Use AutoComplete for Forms. You could also put the text in a NotePad window and recopy it if you overwrite the clipboard. — It's dot com 21:22, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
