Appearances
- Main Page 5 — Homestar Runner is working in a breakfast restaurant, unnamed but clearly designed to be a Waffle House.
- Homestar's yellow name tag is in the same style as Waffle House employees.
- The picture frames of waffles are an allusion to the various frames hung near the top of the walls in most Waffle Houses that hold photos of meals and the history of Waffle House.
- The e-mail button cues a chef calling out "Quarter-cheese-plate-scattered-smothered-covered," referencing a common way hash browns are served at the restaurant.
- A hidden image on the site shows an unused concept for a shirt: The text "Homestar Runner" written in the style of the "Waffle House" logo. The design also includes the slogan "Everybody, Everybody" and humorously declares the site is "open 24 hours".
- Wallpaper — A wallpaper makes use of the aforementioned "Homestar Runner" Waffle House logo parody, including the "Everybody, Everybody" tagline.
- Email pizza joint (DVD commentary) — Ryan Sterritt, riffing on the concept of the King of Town's "Thanksgiving Lover's" pizza, mentions the turkey melt at Waffle House.
- Rap Song — Peacey P is shown ordering a breakfast meal inside of a "Waffle-O Stow" on to a moving limousine. In addition to the name, the appearance of the Waffle-O Stow is similar to that of Waffle House establishments.
- Punkin Stencils — As of the 2009 update, selecting the Nebulon stencil cues Homestar to list places he has been in Main Pages, including "at a Waffle House".
- Stinkoman 20X6 (Level 10) — Stinkoman comments that the crystal shards of Mecha-Trogador are "scattered and smothered" across Planet K, again referring to Waffle House hash browns.
- Dangeresque Roomisode 3: Keep My Enemies, Loser — When speaking through the kitchen door, Dangeresque calls out the Waffle House order "Waffle on 2! Quarter cheese plate scattered smothered and covered," (a variation of the lines from Main Page 5).
Use by the Brothers Chaps
As The Brothers Chaps are located in the Atlanta area, they have a familiarity with and fondness for their local Waffle Houses. This leads to the establishment coming up in interviews.
- Run Devil Run Interview - 2003 — The brothers offer that they would be willing to license the characters for advertisements "if it was something awesome that fit with Homestar" — Matt suggests they'd make a deal with Waffle House, to which Mike agrees.
- Kotaku Interview - 13 Jun 2008 — The interviewer, another Atlanta local who grew up in the same area as the Chapman family, hosts the interview over a meal at a Waffle House.
- Gizmodo Interview - 24 Jan 2017 — Mike reflects that the modern process of creating toons is not dissimilar from in the site's heyday: the brothers working through the night, uploading the toon in the early morning, and then "maybe stopping at Waffle House on the way home".
