[http://www.fredthemonkey.com/ Fred the Monkey.com] is a Flash animation site that is greatly influenced by Homestar Runner. It's been around for five years now. Like Homestar Runner, the site features a "First Time Here"-video and a mailbag, very much like Strong Bad's e-mail, and in the sixteenth mailbag, he comments on how he gets a lot of emails from people pretending to be Strong Bad. Also, in the second mailbag, Sceb recieves an email commenting about how FredTheMonkey.com reminds the sender of HomestarRunner.com. Another similarity is that certain characters are able to pick up and manipulate objects without having visible arms. However, in one of the earlier mailbags, it is explicitly explained that these characters do in fact possess psychic powers. Another more obvious reference is displayed in [http://www.fredthemonkey.com/cartoons/reviewSM2.html this toon], where Fred The Monkey wears a Strong Bad mask at the end. Also, during the end credits, it says that " Strong Bad is (obviously) property of h*r"

Newgrounds user Shadow-Panda made a music video of Ebay by Weird Al. It has a picture of Homestar as one of the items bought off of Ebay, out of its box as the camera pans through the items.

There is a game called "Homestar Hunt" on Newgrounds, where you chase Homestar and shoot him.

Also, in the first episode of the cartoon trilogy Kingdom Hearts Chronicles there is a reference to Homestar, in the scene in which Sora enters a cave there is a carved etch of Homestar Runner on the wall.

In addition, there is a game called "Yeowi the Pervert" on Newgrounds in which the Entrance theme of the Brothers Strong is randomly chosen during gameplay.

Rareware.com

In the December 24, 2003 edition of the letters page Scribes, one letter states:

Can you answer emails in Flash like Strong Bad does? I think it would be funny because we could all hear you speak with an English accent, which us North Americans find amusing. :) Also, we could hear you groan when you get a bad one, like those other e-mails you get... you know, the ones that aren't sent by me.

The response:

British accent, Arse, British accent. Anyway, no. That would be a terrible error.

Strong Bad, Homestar, Strong Mad, The Cheat and Marzipan appear as grotesque caricatures in Tub Bites vol. 2.. The computer used in the toon appears to be a parody of the Compy 386. The first email is "Recycle Binned!". Homestar returns Strong Bad's "'80s reference" (a Tag Team Wrestling cartridge), as well as some of his "crappy catchphrases" (the one used as an example is "holy crap!"). Also, this is reprised with a parody of a "How do you type with boxing gloves on?"-style Strong Bad email in Karnov Bites.

  • The Easter egg in Tub Bites 2 is a parody of Marzipan's Answering Machine, featuring calls from parodies of Strong Bad, the King of Town, Homsar, Coach Z and Strong Sad.

The update of March 1, 2007, Steve's Movie Review Blog, contains reference to the Strong Bad Emails. The article is written as if the writer is unfamiliar with internet trends; he writes that he just discovered the site, thinks the cartoon's title is "The Strong Bads", and thinks its web address is www.strongbad.com.

Homestar appears in Funny Housemates 2 and Funny Housemates 999. He looks like Homestar, but acts more like Homsar.

    • In the same stream, in a cave is a flask that is blocking a path, which can be interacted with, but can't be picked up, saying that "You cannot get ye flask."
  • When Vinny was playing a bootleg Plug-n-Play game, he says “I see you, Chat.” and then sings a bit of Everybody to the Limit while doing a Strong Bad impression.

He was then pictured lower on the page in the "Immediate Aftermath" section, then moved to the "Related Information" section, then finally dropped altogether.
