Otaku Revolution: The Strip

The October 31, 2009 strip was titled "The 2009 Otaku Revolution: The Strip Secondary and Obscure Homestar Runner Universe Characters Halloween Spectacular!" with the characters of the strip dressed up as the characters in question. The usual logo for OR:TS was replaced with a parody of the Homestarrunner.com logo, and the page title was "Sorry Homestar, but your Strong Bad is in another comic!" Previous strips included the character Rob saying "Clear the launchway, man. We're taking this baby to the moon!" and another strip featured a group sing-along of "The Cheat is Not Dead" as well as a character shouting "Hey, Rob! You're not Strong Bad!"

At the beginning of episode 10, Jeremy answers emails in the exact same style as Strong Bad does. The computer used says "Compy 386" in the corner.

Rareware.com

In the December 24, 2003 edition of the letters page Scribes, one letter states:

Can you answer emails in Flash like Strong Bad does? I think it would be funny because we could all hear you speak with an English accent, which us North Americans find amusing. :) Also, we could hear you groan when you get a bad one, like those other e-mails you get... you know, the ones that aren't sent by me.

The response:

British accent, Arse, British accent. Anyway, no. That would be a terrible error.

Real Ultimate Power

Parodies of Real Ultimate Power are everywhere. A fan made one featuring TROGDOR.

Red vs Blue

  • At Red vs Blue they made a public service announcement about tattoos (It appears every 4 weeks or so in the season 1 archive). When Church suggests you get a tattoo of your favorite character from your favorite online comic (actually referring to himself), Strong Bad's face appears on-screen instead.
  • A Strong Bad and a Homestar sticker is also seen during the Red vs. Blue segment in the Halo 2 Limited Collectors Edition DVD, on the window of a door.

  • And in the Batman and Robin Rifftrax, when they are placing the mask on Bane's face, Bill Corbett states "Next they're going to put boxing gloves on him and force him to read emails," in reference to the ever popular sbemail feature. It should be noted that that particular Rifftrax was written by the fans.
  • In the RiffTrax of the Harrison Ford movie Firewall, Mike Nelson quips as Harrison Ford works at a computer, "Now that I've watched every single Strong Bad Email..."
  • In the Troll 2 RiffTrax, guest riffer Lowtax comments on a particularly 80s-sounding midi loop playing in one scene, asking "Are they listening to the soundtrack of a Homestar Runner cartoon in there?"
  • In the October 27, 2008 blog entry, webmaster Conor posted his version of the Homestar Runner Pumpkin. He also mentions that Ballad Of The Sneak is his favorite toon, and wonders how Da Vinci's Notebook got to work with The Brothers Chaps.
  • In the Rifftrax for the film Tron, riffed by Paul and Storm and Jonathan Coulton, Paul of Paul and Storm spies a popcorn air popper and exclaims, "Bennedetto!" It is interesting to note that Paul and Storm were two of the founding members of Da Vinci's Notebook, creators of the Ballad of the Sneak.
  • In the RiffTrax for the 1969 film The Wonderful Land of Oz, when hearing the depressed-sounding character of Jack the pumpkinhead talk, Mike Nelson asks, "He's voiced by Strong Sad, isn't he?"

Strong Bad, Homestar, Strong Mad, The Cheat and Marzipan appear as grotesque caricatures in Tub Bites vol. 2.. The computer used in the toon appears to be a parody of the Compy 386. The first email is "Recycle Binned!". Homestar returns Strong Bad's "'80s reference" (a Tag Team Wrestling cartridge), as well as some of his "crappy catchphrases" (the one used as an example is "holy crap!"). Also, this is reprised with a parody of a "How do you type with boxing gloves on?"-style Strong Bad email in Karnov Bites.

  • The Easter egg in Tub Bites 2 is a parody of Marzipan's Answering Machine, featuring calls from parodies of Strong Bad, the King of Town, Homsar, Coach Z and Strong Sad.

The update of March 1, 2007, Steve's Movie Review Blog, contains reference to the Strong Bad Emails. The article is written as if the writer is unfamiliar with internet trends; he writes that he just discovered the site, thinks the cartoon's title is "The Strong Bads", and thinks its web address is www.strongbad.com.

Homestar appears in Funny Housemates 2 and Funny Housemates 999. He looks like Homestar, but acts more like Homsar.

On October 22, 2010, Homestar Runner cast is featured in Photoshop Phriday as Abstract Pixel Art [11]

Other episodes contain references as well, but this one is the most obvious.

Stick RPG 2

On the news post for May 17 (of what year?), there is a line that says "what are you using, a 386?", with "386" being a link to invisibility.

Stick Shorts

On this site, episode 11 includes a short that is about a guy who sees Homestar, and kicks him, which results in Homestar falling on the guy. This is also a coincidence, since this series is created by Teh Cartoonist Productions like Charlie Clay and the Clay Crew. Even the Homestar sprite is the same as the one used in Charlie Clay.

He was then pictured lower on the page in the "Immediate Aftermath" section, then moved to the "Related Information" section, then finally dropped altogether.
