From Homestar Runner Wiki

Jump to: navigation, search

Hey! Sorry I didn't notice that whole conversation about the Roma in time to take part in it. However, I must say that anyone showing such an interest in the content and accuracy of articles ought to become a member. Plus you use full sentences and correct spellings—that's an asset. :)

However, I have to warn you that if you do decide to get involve you'll need a slightly thicker skin. This site a lot less Lord-of-the-Flies than a lot of other online communities; you don't really have to fight for survival. That means that even if somebody addresses you in a hostile way you respond in a calm one. Even though the wiki medium moves quickly, it's also 100% recoverable and undoable, so nothing is ever really panic mode. And after all, you're a lot more likely to get what you want done with flattery or appeasement than with insistence or insinuation. (Again—even if someone else addresses you provocatively first.)

I have to warn you also that just because the wiki is democratic in the original sense—everyone has a voice—does not mean that every idea has a chance. Since it's straight-up majority rule, you have to be able to live with it if something you firmly believe is right is not accepted. If you think you could advocate for your position articulately but unexcitedly, and if have a general interest in the upkeep of a Homestar Runner reference source, then you really ought to create an account. —AbdiViklas 21:27, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
