User talk:

From Homestar Runner Wiki

Jump to: navigation, search

Hello, I am a user who have been contributing a lot to this wiki site, but like every little thing that I have contributed has been deleted. To whoever's doing this, I would like to remind you that things that have been added to this site should only be removed if they are either false or insignificant, but you have been just automatically deleting everything seemingly without any care. Please stop what you're doing! I don't want to report you to the authorities, but I'm going to have to if this nonsense keeps up. My suggestion, if something new is added to the Homestar Runner Wiki, just look at it, think about it for a while, then leave it on the site for a day or two. Then, if you think the information is either false or unmanditory, then you can go ahead and delete it, but don't just delete it right off the bat.

Also, I need to know if there is any type of way I can contact people who work on wikipedia, because they have sent me a lot of messages through this site due to bad contributions I have made, and I don't know how they did it because I have no way of replying to them. I need someone to please reply to me and answer my concerns. — (Talk | contribs) (left unsigned)

OK, first off, we are unafilliated with Wikipedia. We only use their software – the people who work there don't have authority here, and vice-versa. I have looked at your IP's Contributions (If you have other edits that aren't listed there, please mention them... you might have a dynamic IP and then this might miss some). Of the two edits, the first was patently false – other variations were also left out, they are listed on the talk page, the general consensus being that there are too many to list on the article. Your second edit, if true, would be better placed on Strong Badman, or perhaps superhero name, where the comic originated. However, it seems to me that it is general a parody of all superhero comic books of that era, rather than any one in particular (see TTATOT in the glossary). I hope that clears up your concerns. --phlip TC 05:38, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
I'll only add that I am always reluctant to revert, as I suspect most are. I'd prefer to leave a contribution as is. Nevertheless, it is frequent when I must revert, and I always state the reason in the edit summary. All editors here are encouraged to do that. If you see a particular edit was reverted without a reason stated, please feel free to ask the reverting editor why. Don't feel personally attacked by reverts, we base the decision on the content, not the contributor. Please feel welcome to contribute further.
