Hey there. I noticed something odd when you signed your name. The system should have made a link to your user page, but it didn't. In your preferences, next to Nickname where it says "Raw signatures (without automatic link)", that checkbox needs to be unchecked. It should only be checked if you have a custom signature (which you currently do not). Cheers! — It's dot com 11:35, 25 April 2006 (UTC)

I was VANDALIZED? Who vandalized me? Can we block them permanently?

:Everything that a user does gets logged on the server—not just when making edits, but also whenever any file is loaded for any reason (like loading a page to be read or clicking on a link). There is a number associated with each user called an IP. A user's IP might not be visible to most people, but certain administrators, like me, can see them whenever we want. I have examined the server logs and I know who did the vandalizing. I can see where this user logged out and then anonymously edited the two pages that were vandalized. Hopefully the fact that the IP will be blocked for a week will teach whoever did the vandalizing not to do it again, especially because I know exactly who it is. If that person were to read this, I would want him or her to know that vandalizing for fun or to test or out of boredom is not what we do around here, and I would warn that if it happens again, the block won't be as light. — It's dot com 21:23, 25 April 2006 (UTC)

:::Really? Well, you need to watch out for... yourself. The edits came from a computer that you were logged in on a mere 5 minutes earlier, and the string of page views between your last legitimate edit and the vandalism is pretty much unbroken. At this point in the discussion, a lot of people like to blame their younger brother or sister or the so-called friend who happens to be at the house, and if you want to say one of those things I will assume good faith and believe you. Let's just hope that you can take whatever steps you need to in order to prevent this from happening again, shall we? — It's dot com 22:49, 25 April 2006 (UTC)

Editing Tips

To make a subpage, move the page to User:Wiki grrl/example
To indent, type in colons. Each colon indents each line another indent.
Each line here
is indented
one more time than
the line before it.
To sign your name on talk pages, type four tildes, like this: ~~~~, and the system will automatically put in your name and a timestamp, like this: Wiki grrl 10:17, 25 April 2006 (UTC)

Userbox tower

userboxtop ← the top

Signing, part 2
