Homestar Runner has used foods as telephones on at least two known occasions. He appears to do so with foods he likes and doesn't understand the fact that these items aren't actually phones.

Given the cartoonish state of reality that is Free Country, USA (or just cartoons in general), it is possible that the food items may function as working telephones.
