Hoisin Sauce is a Chinese dipping sauce, also known as Chinese Barbeque Sauce.
In keep cool, Strong Bad and Strong Mad put a spoonfull of Hoisin Sauce on Strong Sad's head to find out the what temperature was. It's not clear why they did this, as they got an accurate answer by asking him.
In Halloween Potion-ma-jig, Hoisin sauce was one of the choices given in Homsar's Easter egg.
