MARVEL is a comic book company founded by Martin Goodman in 1939. They were know for publishing comic books based on Crime, horror, mystery, romance, science fiction, war, and Western. In 1961, they published superhero comic books such as X-Men, Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four, the Hulk, Thor, Iron Man, Captain America. Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, and Steve Ditko were the main people for making a lot of the popular superhero comics. Today, they're still making comics and one the biggest comic book companies along with DC comics and had a lot of TV shows and movies based on their comic books, mainly the superhero genre. There's some references in some of the Homestar Runner toons.
