The Pickelhaube is a spiked helmet worn in the 19th and 20th centuries by German military, firefighters, and police. Many times in the Homestar Runner body of work, various characters have been seen wearing this distinctive helmet.
[edit] Appearances
- The character Deutschman, being German, wears a Pickelhaube.
- Ballad of the Sneak — The Kaiser wears a Pickelhaube, also due to his German name and appearance.
- Ever and More — The King of Town uses a Pickelhaube for his helmet as a member of the Broternal Order of Different Helmets. This is likely a reference to the Kaiser, his Old-Timey counterpart.
- Baddest of the Bands — Strong Bad throws a Pickelhaube on Homsar's head during the DÖI performance, calling him Baron von Homsar, der Commisar of Metal. As Homsar plays the theremin, the spike on the top of the helmet gets jammed in the fuse box, causing a pyrotechnic explosion.
- Cheat Commandos: Two Part Episode: Part 2 — Dryghost of the Topplegangers wears a Pickelhaube.
