::The original one, submitted back in June, said "The exchange with Bubs is a parody of the popular television remodeling show This Old House, which always featured the host walking around the construction site asking different team members what they were doing and how." This is probably too specific, but captures part of what I'm envisioning this toon as. Perhaps something similar to the above sentence, perhaps "The exchange with Bubs is a takeoff of television home remodeling shows such as ''[[Wikipedia:This Old House|This Old House]]'', where the host asks various team members what they are doing, why, and how." Something to that effect. Home improvement (not the sitcom)
In the past, a fun fact for this page about the second half of this email being a parody of home improvement shows was declined. (Such that Strong Bad = Steve Thomas or Bob Vila, and Bubs = Norm Abram, if you use a This Old House analogy.) I know several people who aren't familiar with home improvement shows at all and so probably wouldn't get this toon unless this was pointed out to them. Should the home improvement show reference be made in some way? -- Spell4yr 20:24, 11 October 2005 (UTC)
