Okay, listen to this: today, I learned that the French word for "Cupid" is ''cupidon''. This is pronounced ''koo-pee dahn" with the "ah" in "dahn" pronounced like in "da," the Russian word for yes. This is a stretch, but when I heard it, it was the first thing I thought of.
