Toon Name Hijinks
Just after moving this page from "Silhoueen Toon" to "Ween 2020 Silhouettes" per the toons menu, I realize the YouTube version has the name "Halloween Hijinks", which seems closer to an official title than either of the others. Which one is right?? Lira (talk) 04:33, 29 October 2020 (UTC)
- That's a good question. In fact, when I was starting on updates, the Youtube version hadn't been posted yet. I'd say stick with what you put until we get a better idea, although a redirect for Halloween Hijinks is a good idea. 76.93.133.65 04:53, 29 October 2020 (UTC)
- And it appears we may have to determine where it's jinx versus jinks. That's going to be fun. 76.93.133.65 05:47, 29 October 2020 (UTC)
- I think "Ween 2020 Silhouettes" is an intentional fakeout on the the Toons menu to avoid a spoiler (which is why it should stay on our main page by the way). I would be okay with breaking from our normal standard of using the Toons menu title in this case and go with the YouTube title, which seems more like a real name. — It's dot com 15:30, 29 October 2020 (UTC)
Transcript
I finished the rough dialog pass on the transcript. Some items for attention:
- Someone needs to time the flash version.
- Jinx seems to be spelled differently; the youtube version suggests hijinks, but the screen picture spells "Lowjinxerol". I suspect lowjinx should be spelled that way, and then that just leaves a decision for jinx/jinks.
- Sound effects, tone descriptions, screen displays, scene transitions need to be added in and checked against standard onomatopoeia spelling.
- Some decision should be made if the characters should be called differently during the Lowjinxerol trip, or if the usual names should be used.
- Cross reference Marzipan calling Coach Z as the nightwatchman's spelling of "Zigglies" for consistency.
- There's a word in Homestar's first singing of "And in the moonlight, things get kind of kooky; girl, you know they do it; no ? respect me as a man." that I can't clearly hear. Someone who is better at hearing song lyrics should make a decision on that.
- Stave It Off Guy's background vocals should be counted and checked.
I'm done for "tonight", but feel free to mark up Thursday. If no one else is up to it, I'll try to make a second pass for screen effects. Proofreading and style rewriting would definitely be appreciated. Thanks! 76.93.133.65 07:20, 29 October 2020 (UTC)
