Yeah, it has an arm.  The arm is really skinny, so you might have thought it was a finger or something. --[[User:Nosmorking|No Smorking]] 18:11, 7 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Good Boring or Bad Boring?

Oh my god, I can't believe I just watched that. How can I get back the four minutes of my life I lost? Why TBC WHY?

Intensely boring shark-jumping action!!! I liked those fireworks.

It was SUPPOSED to be boring. All the "interesting" characters were acting dull as heck, while the more "boring" characters are hyped up on caffeine or throwing wild parties. --Jay (Gobble) 02:01, 7 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Space Ghost Homage?

I know this would be horribly shot down if I tried to put it in Fun Facts, but given that TBC likely watch Adult Swim, I can't help feeling that this email was a Space Ghost Coast to Coast homage. Watch an ep like "Fire Ant" to see what I mean (10 minutes of Space Ghost crawling across a landscape muttering inane threats!). Aurora the Homestar Coder 04:21, 7 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Format Problem?

and this should probably be working... It appears that the first apostrophe isn't being processed as part of a command... Crystallina 02:04, 7 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Dont know what's happening with that.. now it shows up as the italicized text is showing up bold and vice versa.. - EMJS

Loved It!

I LOVED this email!!--That crazy DumDe!

Bubs' speech

He said "I remember learning math in school" .. I put my speaker at full volume .. It's math - EMJS

I had mine at full volume too and I'm certain it's "that". "Math" doesn't really fit the context quite as well anyway. --Jay (Gobble) 02:56, 7 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Listened to it a few more times (speaker at full volume as well) and it was unmistakably "that"; clear consonants and everything. Crystallina 02:57, 7 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Listened to it a few more times and must apologize for me thinking so .. it is just that Bubs' voice is so .. "unclear" let's just say .. that it is hard to tell between the two when he is the speaker. - EMJS

Niels Bohr

Since I changed the entry to say who the picture was for, I figured I'd put my justification here. The picture is addressed to "S2," and it seems reasonable to interpret S-squared as Strong Sad.--Big Dog 03:12, 7 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Plus, Strong Sad is the one who's a fan of him. Crystallina 06:04, 7 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Yeah, "S squared" is the same as "S multiplied by S" which would be written as "SS" for Strong Sad --No Smorking 11:58, 7 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Algebra aside, and speaking of mathematical strings, S² is a common abbreviation for SS --phlip TC 13:09, 7 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Possible Inside Reference

Bub's "Be's" was last heard from Stong Bad in the bet ("Let's see you be's cool"). Was there any other occasion?

The toons-menu description of Homestar vs. Little Girl 2 says, "Little Girl be's cute." That's why I don't think this is a reference. It is just a word the Brothers Chaps throw out now and then. --BazookaJoe 11:53, 7 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Wowowowhat?

I'm rather convinced that Strong Bad says "What?" at the same time that Homestar says "Wow," but this doesn't seem to be a universal view. Opinions? --Jay (Gobble) 06:00, 7 Jun 2005 (UTC)

They both say Wow. I'm 100% certain.

Not sure, myself. Listened again and I can't quite tell, but I'm leaning towards "Wow" simply because it doesn't make much sense for Strong Bad to say "What?" when he just finished talking with Bubs about that very subject. Crystallina 06:05, 7 Jun 2005 (UTC)

It is kinda hard to discern, I'll admit. However, I can VERY clearly hear that SB's intonation rises (as though he's asking a question) as Homestar's falls. --Jay (Gobble) 06:13, 7 Jun 2005 (UTC)

I'm almost positive I hear "Wow" here instead of "What". Strong Bad has kind of a strange way of saying it, but it's one I hear very often in his voice (it's usually "Whoa" or "Ohh", however). His intonation rises, but falls at the very end. It doesn't sound like a question to me. Also, I don't hear a hard "t" sound, and I think that would be pretty noticeable after checking it a few times. The entire word doesn't seem to have any hard sounds. Lastly, check out his mouth; it starts out with a rounded "o" shape then opens up into its normal rectangle shape. I think "Wow" fits that far better than "What" does. Now that I see both sides of the argument though, it's hard to be sure. Some more opinions would be nice. - 71.113.43.208 09:36, 7 Jun 2005 (UTC)

I'm pretty sure SB says "Woah" and then HR says "Wow". --phlip TC 09:54, 7 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Sudden stop?

This toon stops most of the way through (when Strong Bad is listing three letter words and types "cod, for, her") for me, can anyone help? I've tried everything. Refresh, Hard Refresh, Cache clearing, saving the .SWF...can anyone help me? -User:Homestar Runnar

Elaborate. I think it's MEANT to do that...

Auugh!

What the- I don't usually send e-mails but this week I sent in ten a DAY and none of mine ever get picked! Whaddaya need, 100 a day? Poofy

Probably more. TBC get thousands a day and only a tiny fraction are ever read at all. Aurora the Homestar Coder 14:26, 7 Jun 2005 (UTC)

I see vs. Eye see

We need to reach a consensus. Does Homestar say, "More like... Eye see," or, "More like... I see"? I think the joke here is that he says I see because he can't close his eyes. --BazookaJoe 11:51, 7 Jun 2005 (UTC)

I agree. It's the issue of Homestar seeing as opposed to Strong Bad, so there's emphasis on Homestar, and seeing as "I" represents Homestar, emphasis on "I" instead of "eye" makes sense. Suicune64 12:14, 7 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Agreed - that's how I saw the joke as well. Crystallina 16:38, 7 Jun 2005 (UTC)
no, wrong! the joke is that Homestar is saying the word "eye". This may also be a reference to a previous halloween cartoon, where Homestar claims the noise that eyes make is "seeee... seee...." You see the character of Homestar says stupid things a lot. You should consult his character page for more information. It's eye, not I.

Footnote time. We don't want to look stupid. I'd say it's obviously "I", though. TBC don't go in for those kind of cheap puns...

I think we should leave it as is, by the way. The same thing was done in "for kids" with SB saying "I'LL KILL ALL OF YOUR DOGS/DOLLS!" and it looks fine.

I think the footnote DOES make us look stupid. How does "eye" fit into that context at all? --Jay (Gobble) 15:51, 7 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Doing

Strong Bad saying "What are you...uh...doing" keeps getting inserted as an inside reference to car, but since it keeps getting reverted, it apparently is not. Just mentioning this "worthless non-fact" to prevent further mistakes from being made by folks who don't page back through the history. 221.218.44.253 16:28, 7 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Indeed. The doing/doyng car reference is currently in STUFF. Please do not add it as a reference at this time. --BazookaJoe 17:19, 7 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Easter Egg Goof?

I added this fun fact, which was later removed by tomstiff:

  • On the King Of Town easter egg, you see a free-floating hand holding a mug of beer or soda, that is not connected to any character on the screen.

The response was "it belongs to the blonde behind KOT".

To me, it looks like a goof. It doesn't appear that the hand is connected to an arm or any person. Even homestar, even though he's armless, doesn't have a hand when he's holding something. Not a big deal...just looked like a legit goof to me. What does anyone else think about this? --Duke33 16:47, 7 Jun 2005 (UTC)
