Using foods as phones is something that Homestar Runner has done on at least two known occasions. He appears to use it with foods he likes, and doesn't understand the fact that these items aren't actually phones.

• Marzipan's Answering Machine Version 13.2 - Homestar uses a banana that he thinks is Pom Pom's cell phone to text message Marzipan.
