Purpose

Hmm, do we need this template? The way it is currently used here is in no way more informative than {{cleanup}} with an appropriate talk page post. Loafing 23:10, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

You can never be too careful (for lack of a better word). I saw an early verison posted on Strong Bad Email Statistics] and later had to move it to The Field]. Bad Bad Guy 23:15, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
I don't see this template having much use... Isn't it just as easy to update the page as putting a template on it? --DorianGray 23:19, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
If it makes you feel better, I'll add a deletion template to it. Bad Bad Guy 23:22, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
It is not normally as easy to update a page as to add a template. It is as easy, however, to add onre template or another. While I like this one, it's redundant to {{cleanup}}. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 03:42, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
Actually, my point stands. With the exception of the page mentioned above, most updates are as simple as adding the new toon's name to the "Appearances" list. A small sentence or two can be added to a main paragraph if needed, but when it is needed, no one forgets. If the item/character/place played a significant role in the new toon (examples include the Horrible Painting and The S is for Sucks), no one forgets to update it. All people need to remember is to update the smaller, less important lists. Especially places. Everyone forgets to add to when Marzipan's house makes another appearance. That needs fixing somehow... People need to update appearances, seriously.
I seem to have gone off on a tangent. But it's okay, because it's an important (if separate) issue. Irredisregardless, the point remains that, if we fix that problem, this template would be useless. Even given that problem, it'd be no better to add *Email [[fake email name]] than {{update}}. That's my point. The vast majority of updates are either done right away (new, important info: Horrible Painting's reappearance), or are so simple the template would be a waste of time (appearances lists: Marzipan's House). Hence, why the template is unneeded: our articles are not particularly time-sensitive, and if they go for a few whiles without the update, it doesn't significantly change the information. And if someone does notice something missing, it's more likely they'll just add the info themselves instead of a template. --DorianGray 04:03, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
I just realized I could have just used incompletelist for the 2 articles this is tagged to. Bad Bad Guy 21:08, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
