Anime is the term for East Asian cartoons, primarily those made in Japan. Anime has made several appearances in the Homestar Runner Universe.

Appearances

Pikachu, one of the most well-know anime characters from the show Pokémon, has appeared in several toons.
The anime film Akira has been referenced several times.
Email japanese cartoon — Strong Bad's "Stinkoman" character is designed to resemble old fashioned anime cartoons. This trend continues throughout all other 20X6 toons.
TrogdorCon '97 — Strong Sad mentions he was going to buy some "anime," which Strong Bad refers to as the outdated name "japanimation".
- On a related note, Homestar Runner plans to buy manga (which he mispronounces), a type of comic book which inspires many pieces of anime.
