This is documented. "In the URL all symbols must be among: A-Z a-z 0-9 ._\/~%-+&#?!=()@ \x80-\xFF. If a URL contains a different character it should be converted; for example, ^ has to be written %5E (to be looked up in ASCII). A blank space can also be converted into an underscore." The apostrophe is where you run into this most frequently, and so for your future notice, %27 is the encoding for apostrophe. -- InterruptorJones 12:39, 21 Sep 2004 (MST)

Bother vs Spy on

HOMESTAR RUNNER: Like, I don't even want to see what you got me this year.
MARZIPAN: Why don't you go [bother/spy on] someone else?!

It doesn't sound at all like "bother" to me. And despite what Jay says, "spy on" does make sense in this context, since you might spy on someone to find out what they're getting you for Decemberween. Homestar says that he doesn't want to know what Marzipan's getting him, but it's possible that she doesn't believe him when she snaps at him.

Actually, now that I watch it again, it sounds more like "buy him". It still doesn't sound like "bother".

I just listened to it again, with my volume all the way up, and I SWEAR I can only hear "bother". And I disagree, Homestar isn't asking what Marzipan is giving him, and he's bothering her. And he doesn't spy on anyone, despite saying that it's a "good idea". --Jay 14:46, 25 Jan 2005 (MST)

This is the first cartoon when the brothers Chaps refer to themselves as "Brethren" Chaps.
