The Bug (which, although never explicitly stated, appears to be a fly) flew into Homestar's mouth in "Bug In Mouth Disease", making Homestar think the good times were over.
The Bug is very similar to many toddler books such as Winnie the Pooh, where the bees (or bugs, as this toon translates them) fly around in nearly the same flight pattern, as well as having a similar dotted trail.
