The e-marlin is a figurative ASCII art marlin that is used in a fish-related metaphor by Strong Bad in the Email, dreamail. Strong Bad notes that while there are many "email-fish" out there in the "Email sea", most of them are "those nasty bottom-feeders with the suckhole mouth" (probably referring to jawless fish). However, once in a while a few of these email-fish break the glimmering surface of the water to glisten in the sunset for a few fleeting moments, such as the e-marlin. Subsequently, Strong Bad quickly ditches the fishing metaphor.
To see the e-marlin in an Easter egg, one must click the word "e-marlin". It will jump up from the bottom of the Lappy 486 screen in an arc, leaving several "\" and "/" splashes, and dive back down to wherever it came from.
It is impossible to exactly recreate the e-marlin in ASCII art as it appears in dreamail.
