So a sysop is not a job at the Wiki, but a trusted user. Got it. I'd become a Sysop, but I have another job. I guess that's it. :I'm not a sysop or anything, but i believe i'm pretty well-respected round these parts. And it's not staying up all day and night, it's more just doing what you can, monitoring changes, helping out people, stuff like that. That's all. {{User:DeFender1031/sig}} 02:09, 5 October 2008 (UTC) | :I'm not a sysop or anything, but i believe i'm pretty well-respected round these parts. - I'm not a sysop or anything, but i believe i'm pretty well-respected round these parts. And it's not staying up all day and night, it's more just doing what you can, monitoring changes, helping out people, stuff like that. That's all. — Defender1031*Talk 02:09, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
- no, but many of the sysops and respected users are in other countries, allowing for differences in timezone. As for becoming a sysop, you just gotta be the best user you can. there's no nominations or anything, it's just like, if they think they need more sysops, they know who's been trustworthy, and they pick someone. Basically a "don't call us, we'll call you" kind of thing. — Defender1031*Talk 02:20, 5 October 2008 (UTC)

I allow other editors to contact me via email only so that I can be contacted about off topic matters, or in the unlikely event that I need to be contacted about something that is not germane to a public discussion. Homestar Runner E-mails
A few notes regarding your recent changes to this page.
1) It is never acceptable to post someone's personal e-mail address in a public venue without their explicit consent. In this case, I doubt the e-mail address that was listed really was that person's personal address, so inaccurately listing it as such wasn't invasive after all, but still inaccurate and therefore not appropriate.
2) It is dubious whether the details of the MX records and related DNS information of homestarrunner.com should be documented in this knowledge base. In any case, the information you listed on the page was again inaccurate. That domain is not a secret part of the site. In fact it doesn't even respond to HTTP requests. It's part of their mail system.
3) To reiterate what I already mentioned on the talk page of the article, it's not in the purview of this knowledge base to provide a comprehensive contact sheet for all things homestarrunner.com. That is their business. Our mission is to document what they do put out there.
I understand you put work into the page, and I appreciate your effort on that. However, there was a notice at the top of the page indicating the probable transience of the page. Some of the information you added to the page should be documented, but not there. For example, the email addresses found on Thorax Corps' website would be appropriately listed in the corresponding articles for the pages of that site. Please don't think I'm attacking you, as it's not a personal matter. I just have a sensitive spot for respecting the distribution of other peoples' email addresses and publicly posting technical details of their systems. Green Helmet 20:59, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
Far more than spelling fixes
Your "spelling fixes" on Strong Badia the Free only accomplished removing all of the links, formatting, and mandatory templates on the page, in addition to fixing the spelling of a mere two words that I noticed. Why did you do that? If you copied the page's contents into a word processor, ran the spell checker, and pasted it back in, that would help to explain it... which is why you shouldn't do that. --Jay (Gobble) 18:51, 30 September 2008 (UTC)
Sig
The image in your current sig should be reduced 28px (max) in width to conform to the 20px-max-height expectation (see HRWiki:Signature). OptimisticFool 05:06, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
