The "get dagger" command is probably from the unreleased Strong Bad email E-mail Birds on the strongbad_email.exe DVD, in which Strong Bad plays a text adventure and tries to get a dagger but fails. However, there is no way to confirm this at present, as we don't know if "E-mail Birds" was created before or after "video games".

Ding! Thy Dungeonman is a featured article, which means it showcases an important part of the Homestar Runner body of work and/or highlights the fine work of this wiki. We also might just think it's cool. If you see a way this page can be updated or improved without compromising previous work, feel free to contribute.

Thy dungeonman is the best homestar game. w00t! yeah now im bored... --thomas holliday

[edit] Earthbound

Dungeonman might be a reference to Brick Road from "Earthbound," who was attempting to attain the title of "Dungeonman" throughout the course of the game.

  • Decline Why, you ask? Let me explain the Dungeonman of Earthbound for a minute. The man attempts to MAKE dungeons, and in the end BECOMES a dungeon - which is not the same as Thy Dungeonman, who merely EXPLORES dungeons. And with no other connection, I can't let this one sit without a vote. --Jay 04:17, 22 Apr 2005 (UTC)
  • (drops potato sacks) NO, IT'S NOT. Decline Dasrik 10:57, 22 Apr 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Was Made After

The "get dagger" command is probably from the unreleased Strong Bad email E-mail Birds on the strongbad_email.exe DVD, in which Strong Bad plays a text adventure and tries to get a dagger but fails. However, there is no way to confirm this at present, as we don't know if "E-mail Birds" was created before or after "video games".

Yes there is. Video Games was released on the Compy 386. E-mail Birds was on the Tandy 400. -Swimma Dan.

[edit] Jimberjam

Does anyone happen to know what a jimberjam is? Ever since the word was coined, I have used it mindlessly without knowing its true definition.

According to dictionary.com, the word has no definition. Perhaps the Chaps made it up? --DorianGray

[edit] What? (Weird items)

Are these even true?

"Bauble" is a common inside joke in text adventures relating to Zork I, in which someone would wind the clockwork canary, resulting in the creation of a "bauble." - Baubles are not simply a Zork item...

The line "Apparently, this was a load-bearing FLASK" may be a reference to the large amount of RPGs where, when you defeat a boss or get an item, the dungeon would begin to collapse for no apparent reason, and you would have to escape. - There's no reason for this to be there that I can see. It's not really related.

They seem very sketchy to me. ☮y P … "Biscuitheads!" … 20:02, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

As for the second one, I think it's just a reference to load-bearing... I think they're called beams... the pieces of wood that hold houses up. Like in slumber party. That's what load-bearing bosses themselves are named after. 99.252.247.77 22:21, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Beatable?

Is this game actually beatable? I would like to know. ^_^ The Pony man 18:29, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

I beat it once. Go South, get the Trinket, go North, go Dennis, then Give Trinket. Bad Bad Guy 19:00, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Rolling R

(Position the tongue for an "L" but vocalize an "R".)

Man, that's gotta be the most difficult way one can try to make a rolling R sound. --62.51.153.52 23:12, 3 November 2008 (UTC)

This reply is years late, but whatever. The intention is not to try and make a rolling R sound. If this instruction had something to do with Spanglish it might be, but it has to do with Engrish. OptimisticFool 04:53, 12 January 2011 (UTC)

[edit] Ye flask goof

Hey guys I found a goof. If you try to type "Get Yon Flask", the game won't recognize it. You would have to type "Get Yon Ye Flask".
