Summary of this Game

This game is based on the character of Trogdor from the Strong Bad Email Dragon. You follow Trogdor, squishing peasants and burninating cottages, all while avoiding knights and archers.

Easter Eggs

  • Click and hold the "G" in the TROGDOR title to see some game hints.
  • On the title screen, you can use the Konami Code (up up down down left right left right B A, and "click to" start). This will start you off with 30 lives.
  • During the game you can hit the "k" key to kick the game. This doesn't seem to give you any advantage, but it does cause the machine to repeat the word "TROGDOR!"
  • If you score more than 2000 points and then die, you see the "trogdor game secret" -- The author's name (Strong Bad says "Oh man, this is the most secret thing I've ever found in a video game... it's like, some dude's name. Flashing, and stuff.")! The creator of the game is apparently Jonathan Howe.?
  • Treasure Huts! You can enter certain huts and pick-up gold! To get to it you must burninate certain huts that block them, and then let the burnination shut off, otherwise you will burn the treasure hut as well. On level 7, it's the leftmost hut. Burninate the 4 huts in the way. On level 11, it's the lower right hut. Burninate the huts around it. On level 16, it's the upper left hut. Burninate the three huts in the way.

Fun Facts

  • There are a number of funny cut scenes:
    • Level 5 - "stompin' good" -This one's making fun of Pac-Man
    • Level 13 - "parade of trogdors"
    • Level 17 - "dancin' time"
    • Level 21 - "flex it troggie"
    • Level 25 - "peasant dominoes"
  • There are other scenes that do not play for levels 1 - 27:
    • "trogdor incognito"
    • "forbidden peasant love"
    • "a funny joke"
    • "smote that kerrek!" - Strong Bad says "Mmmm! Roast Kerrek!"
    • "2 cottages"
    • "go trogdor 2!"
    • "You win the game" - Strong Bad says something here too. Sounds like he's sighing.

  • Strong Bad will say things while you play. Here's a list:
    • "Aw, this is the worst game I've ever played!"
    • "Ohh.. this is the best game I've ever played."
    • "Stupid, freakin' knights."
    • "Squished you, peasanty."
    • "I squish you"
    • "Oh, yes! And the Trogdor comes in the niiight!"
    • "Oh, Trogdor! I pine for you."
    • "A Squisha Squisha"
    • "The tables have turned!" (when you get burninate power)
    • "Ugh, stupid arch-deluxe."
    • "Ugh, nothing more humiliating then getting killed by the archer...arch deluxe...show you next time!"
    • "Deuce!"
    • "What the? What am I doing in this game?!"
    • "Mmmmm, roast carrot!"
    • {laughing} He's on fire! Look at 'em burning!"
    • "Beat that score, Strong Sad!"
      • Strong Sad: I don't even want to play that game.

  • The "Arch-Deluxe" is a reference to an old McDonald's Burger called the Arch Deluxe.
  • "Oh, Trogdor! I pine for you." is a reference to trevor the vampire.
  • Pausing sometimes causes a purple ball to become visible on the screen.
  • Lev. 27 is well nigh impossible. The peasant-paths are only accessible for 2 of the 6 cottages, so for every peasant you squish there are 2 left to wander back into their cottages (diminishing your burninator meter). Meanwhile, the cottages themselves wall you in to a very small area, making you a sitting duck for archers and knights.
  • Fast-forwarding past level 27 reveals that there are more than 27 stages.
  • This game is supposed to be a parody of the numerous HORRIBLY made arcade and atari games made in the wake of the success of Atari, when many companies made quick bad games to cash in on the video game craze in the early 80's that crashed when the Atari 2600 died (The video game industry was reborn circa 1985 when the NES was released).

Glitches

  • If you pause the game (using the space bar) when the archer is out pulling his bow, he will get stuck there until the end of the level, even if you die on that level.
