Rankin/Bass

Rankin/Bass was an American production company known for its seasonal animated stop motion holiday specials, mostly on Christmas and winter. Their most notable specials include Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and Santa Claus is Coming to Town. They also made the animated television show ThunderCats.

- Email modeling (DVD Commentary) — Matt Chapman says Parson Brown is a clergyman, and Mike says, "I would assume so. He married Frosty." This is a reference to the Rankin/Bass Christmas special Frosty's Winter Wonderland, where the children build a snowman preacher named Parson Brown to marry Frosty and his snow wife.
- Happy Dethemberween — The TV special Homestar and the others watch, Brundo the Decemberween Yak and the Sword of St. Olaf, was based on Rankin/Bass TV specials of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town, and Nestor, the Long-Eared Christmas Donkey.
