So, the spelling. "Sharp Dean" was pretty much chosen for its phonetic qualities. Since the name is a play on "Charlene", perhaps "Sharpdene" might be a better spelling. Even "Sharpdean" might be better; it just doesn't have that "space between words" clip you'd expect if it were "Sharp Dean".
Additionally, some have suggested that "Sharpdene" is a "correct" spelling. Is there a source for this? One of Strong Bad's tweets, perhaps? That'd make the discussion so much simpler. --DorianGray 22:10, 19 November 2016 (UTC)
- Yeah, it was confirmed by this Tweet. 'S definitely Sharpdene. "Sharp Dean" was really just a spelling I came up with when writing the transcript for Marzipan's Answering Machine Version 17.2 because I didn't know how else to spell it, but now it's officially revealed. Let's move it back. Lira (talk) 22:16, 19 November 2016 (UTC)
- I would like to state for the record that the next time something like this happens, whoever moves the page should leave a note either in the move summary or on the talk page pointing to the source of the information rather than just saying "correct spelling" without giving further information. — Defender1031*Talk 22:25, 19 November 2016 (UTC)
Jolene
Having learned that Jolene is also the name of a famous song about a woman named Jolene who's trying to steal Dolly Parton's husband, I've started to wonder if there's a connection or if it's more of a coincidence. For now, I'm just making mention of it here. :) --Stux 10:28, 20 November 2020 (UTC)
