Home improvement (not the sitcom)
In the past, a fun fact for this page about the second half of this email being a parody of home improvement shows was declined. (Such that Strong Bad = Steve Thomas or Bob Vila, and Bubs = Norm Abram, if you use a This Old House analogy.) I know several people who aren't familiar with home improvement shows at all and so probably wouldn't get this toon unless this was pointed out to them. Should the home improvement show reference be made in some way? -- Spell4yr 20:24, 11 October 2005 (UTC)
- What was the wording of the old item? When and how was it declined? How would you word a current item? I admit I had never really thought of this email in those terms, but I'm intrigued by what you're suggesting. — It's dot com 20:32, 11 October 2005 (UTC)
- The original one, submitted back in June, said "The exchange with Bubs is a parody of the popular television remodeling show This Old House, which always featured the host walking around the construction site asking different team members what they were doing and how." This is probably too specific, but captures part of what I'm envisioning this toon as. Perhaps something similar to the above sentence, perhaps "The exchange with Bubs is a takeoff of television home remodeling shows such as This Old House, where the host asks various team members what they are doing, why, and how." Something to that effect. Spell4yr 20:44, 11 October 2005 (UTC)
- I don't see the connection as much as you, but if you feel strongly about it, go for it. If you're not as sure, you could put it directly in STUFF and see whether it's accepted. — It's dot com 21:05, 11 October 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks for the helpful advice; I've added it and I hope I followed the templates all right. But the advice is most appreciated, and at least this way we can see if I'm not just seeing things. :-) One question though -- is it newest toon at the top, or newest submitted fun fact? Spell4yr 02:59, 12 October 2005 (UTC)
- That would be newest submitted fun fact. —BazookaJoe 03:01, 12 October 2005 (UTC)

Space Shows tape
I'm not real sure of the timeline in question, but is it possible that the "space shows" tape is a reference to the Decemberween Puppet Stuff episode? Homestar asks Little Girl what she wants for Decemberween, and she ultimately tells him "space show DVD's." We could fit in the reference on this page.
- This email came out before Homestar vs. Little Girl. So it can't be a reference to that. Heimstern Läufer

- Thanks - just thought I would check. It's an amusing coincidence, but it's obviously just chance. == Homestar Runner! ==
Greetings, fallows.
My name is Justin, and I live in South Dakota. I discovered Homestar's website when two of my friends introduced me to it the weekend of my wedding. At first, I thought the material was banal at best - but then something kept me coming back over and over again. Even when I should have been working, I continued to check back regularly. Now, as many of my friends have, I have probably seen everything on the entire site.
In my free time (besides viewing Homestarrunner), I enjoy playing some computer games, reading, and spending time with my family. I love classical music, with special emphasis on Haydn, Mozart, Vivaldi, and all other Baroque era composers. I am a relatively new Wiki user, so if anyone feels the urge, corrections and other such help are always welcome.
