Monkey D... Monkeydude...

Is Monkeydude really Monkey D? I mean, I know the Monkeydude card was illustrated with Monkey D in Pom Pom, but the Viklas card was illustrated with the Swedish flag. They've always seemed two clear-cut different people to me. --Upsilon

"Monkey D" is a made up name by Strong Bad which is now a running gag. "Monkeydude" is how someone signed his email to Mr Bad. Its a case of life imitating art. I think we should note this, but ultimately they are the same person in Homestar universe - Dr Haggis - Talk 14:19, 5 Dec 2004 (MST)

To call it a mistake doesn't make much sense, since "vacation" (the first Monkey D image) came out before "crazy cartoon" (the e-mail signed by "monkeydude"), which in turn came out before "pom pom" (the e-mail that uses the image and name together). Barenaked Monkey?

He may well be the inspiration for the Barenaked Ladies song "Another Postcard." -Anonymous

Maybe it is the other way around, "Another Postcard" is the inspiration for MonkeyD. Personally, I think it is just a coincidence. --Hobo

Stong Bad
