A fun fact I'd like to see

HRWiki References

  • "Stupid Coincidence Magazine" is a reference to all the lame, convoluted, and stretched-out "facts" many (often anonymous) users attempt to add to the Fun Facts section of toons, especially Strong Bad Emails.

*sigh* That felt good. — It's dot com 07:54, 1 Jul 2005 (UTC)

Ell oh ell and amen. --Jay (Gobble) 07:56, 1 Jul 2005 (UTC)

good, man. good. -Kinsey

Huzzah! Kvb 17:20, 1 Jul 2005 (UTC)

Cool! We got referenced!Ookelaylay 18:30, 2 Jul 2005 (UTC)

I wish we could put this in.. while the irony would be that, once again, this was a rather implausible reference. -- Mithent 13:15, 3 Jul 2005 (UTC)

Not STUFF, but still

 * This is the first time we see Strong Bad's written signature, in the HUGE Tube Socks ad.

I'm afraid not. We've seen it in the Yearbook. --VolatileChemical 23:20, 1 Jul 2005 (UTC)

Well then, kill it. -BazookaJoe 23:22, 1 Jul 2005 (UTC)

Unremarkable

None of the example magazine ads shown match the ads Strong Bad describes.-If ever I saw an unnecessary, uninformative remark, this was it.-Grover Junior

STUFF it if you don't like it. Someone tried to remove it twice before, but gave no explanation as to why, so it was put back both times. (Whether or not it's necessary or informative, it is true...) --Jay (Gobble) 20:57, 3 Jul 2005 (UTC)
Done. -Grover Junior

Song Reference?

I think at the beginning when he's singing "you can't handle my style" it sounds exactly like the tune of some old song but I can't put my finger on it. Anybody else know what it could be? -Miss Free Country USA

I agree. I can't shake the feeling I know that tune from somewhere. But where? -- Tom 23:29, 11 Jul 2005 (UTC)

I thought of the same thing. it seems to be more recent, maybe 80's? Rogue Leader / (my talk)

it is 80's no actually i think 70's: elton john and kikki dee singing: "Don't go breaking my heart" - Rubber Henry

According to the Kiki Dee Information Bureau, TGBMH was released in 1976. -- tomstiff 15:55, 15 Jul 2005 (UTC)
Should we add the Song as a reference on the page? Rogue Leader / (my talk)
Go right ahead if you think it's right. I haven't heard it myself, so I wouldn't know. -- Octan

The first thing I thought of was the tune sounds very much like "dont go breaking my heart" and was surprised it wasn't listed / referenced in the trivia section

I can't believe you associated that with the classic Elton John "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" - what's the similarity?? Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 03:51, 17 April 2006 (UTC)

Stupid Coincidence?

I dont see how the name of this magasine makes sence. -Homestramy20 19:28, 6 July 2005

  • Ummm... not a lot of things in the Homestar universe make "sence". BTW, don't send an email to Strong Bad with spelling like that. TaranchulaVamp15 12:55, 11 July 2005
    • Homestar ended up on the cover of a magazine at the same time as Strong Bad, which is a stupid coincidence. What else needs explaining? --Jay (Gobble) 17:53, 11 Jul 2005 (UTC)
And another stupid coincidence is... This came out on my birthday! (Except... wrong year). And... I just noticed that! (Yep, I'm slow). — talk Bubsty edits 00:00, 5 January 2006 (UTC)

Closed STUFF

It's not even July!

Strong Bad's comment, "What?! Back to school already?! It's not even July!" is a reference to how stores sell event-themed products an absurd amount of time in advance of such events.

Give a Care

The phrase in the colognac ad "we don't really give a care" is a refrence to the e-mail No Loafing where Strong Bad talks about inspirational posters that talk about "determination and giving a care."

the flava

I don't know if this would count as a fun fact, but Strong Bad says "Whatever, baby. You can't even approach the flava... of my colognac." And then ironically on the easter egg it says "drink it. or wear it. we don't really give a care." Could "drink it" be talking about the flava? Andrew911 02:12, 14 October 2006 (UTC)
