What to call these guys
I made an update to the page and called the guys first and second programmer based on Workin' on the Game and Peasant's Quest Preview#Easter Eggs. Would moving the page to Videlectrix Programmers be better? — It's dot com 18:42, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
- I think "Videlectrix Guys" is better since it comes from QotW. Are they ever officially referred to as Videlectrix Programmers?

- Yes. Peasant's_Quest_Preview#Transcript: "Videlectrix programmers have actually been hard at work bringing this epic adventure to life." "Videlectrix Guys" was just something we made up for the quote, right? — It's dot com 18:46, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
- Hmm, listening to the Preview, "Videlectrix programmers" sounds more like a description than a name. To me, the name in QotW is more of a name... to come up with it, they had to think, "Okay, we have this quote, what do we call these guys?" "Um, Videlectrix Guys." They could have just as easily chosen Videlectrix Programmers, but they didn't... It's not a huge issue, but I definitely lean strongly toward "Videlectrix Guys".

- I agree that "Videlectrix programmers" sounds more like a description, but that doesn't change anything for me. Where did they choose "Videlectrix Guys" for the QotW? Quotes of the week aren't labeled; the XML name is just "vidguys". I think they (or whoever updated the weeklies that week, maybe Ryan) were just looking for something short. — It's dot com 18:50, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, here's something else: Fan_Costumes_'07. I think that one gives strong support for "Videlectrix Guys".

- Okay, that's better, but to me it's just a description too. They work for Videlectrix and they are guys. — It's dot com 18:57, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
- And here's another one (maybe the strongest one yet): Peasant's Quest/EasterEggs on the old wiki.
Trey56 18:58, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
- Where is that? Is it on the current wiki? If not, why not? — It's dot com 18:59, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
- Not sure -- it's the screen you get when you die. It's not really a "response" per se, so I can't think at the moment where it should go. At any rate, if they sign a message from themselves as "The Videlectrix Guys", I think we'd be hard-pressed to find a better name for them.
Trey56 19:00, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, you've convinced me. Now, should they be called "First/Second Guy" instead of "Programmer" in the transcripts? Because that's really what I'm getting at: consistency between this article and the transcripts. — It's dot com 19:01, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
- (w00t!) Perhaps. I've been thinking of that too, and I wonder if there's a better way to identify them: by shirt color. But "Pink-shirted Guy" and "Blue-shirted Guy" just don't sound encyclopedic. So, I don't know. But I did check to see, and Matt and Mike do consistently wear the pink and blue shirts, respectively.

- Amazing, I was just about to start this discussion and found there's already one going on ;-) I'm strongly against calling them programmers. We know that the blue shirted guy does the graphics, so we could call him the graphics guy. But we don't know what the other's job is, and we also don't know if the graphics guy has other duties either. My guess is that the shirts are part of their characters, and we might as well use those rather than "First/Second Guy" (although that woudl be safer). Loafing

Henri Chapardieu
Should it be mentioned that (at least according to that blog) one of the Videlectrix guys is named Henri Chapardieu? Apparentyly, all the Videlectrix guys are French. 76.69.122.144 23:42, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
