[edit] Hello World
Hello world!
- Hello! Wait... Im no the world... Is this directed to me or not? Ahh, now youve got me confuzled! For that you must pay! *takes Blue Lazer and Cheat Commandos' gun and fires a purple lazer* --Posted by -erson 18:23, 19 Apr 2005 (UTC) (p.s. Sorry, I'm just a bit bored.)
[edit] Canucks
Regarding your do-over change: a canuck is also just slang for anyone from Canada..Strong Bad may not actually be referencing a team, but he definitly is referencing that slang I think -- Tony Stony 22:54, 17 May 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Tom, it is resembling The Rock!
Marzipan's eye-brow raising is identical to The Rock FTR. User:James Craven 2:46 PM EDT 05/26/05.
So, The Rock is the *only* person to have even arched an eybrow? -- tomstiff 18:55, 26 May 2005 (UTC)
- Wow, guess I reference The Rock all the time. And here I thought I hated wrestling... Aurora the Homestar Coder 18:56, 26 May 2005 (UTC)
- I'll admit my pop culture aptitude ain't what it used to be. I still say that sometimes an arched eyebrow is just an arched eyebrow. -- tomstiff 18:59, 26 May 2005 (UTC)
[edit] What did I do??
LOL. I didn't add that remark; I added a "." at the end of the sentence. You're right, it doesn't belong there regardless. Click on the "diff" button next to my edit to see. --blackbelt 22:22, 13 Jun 2005 (UTC)
[edit] STUFF testing
tomstiff, our new STUFF format is ready for public testing. Please check it out. — It's dot com 08:45, 16 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- Hey tomstiff. I've started a discussion here (with suggestions) about how to verdict facts under the new format. Also, I fixed those dates you mentioned. — It's dot com 00:06, 18 Jun 2005 (UTC)
[edit] About Atlanta reference
Are there other airports that have the exact same automated voice system that says "Please stay in the center of the vehicle and away from the door?" You've changed this back twice apparently with some knowledge of other systems using the exact same language (which was replaced in 1994 at Hartsfield). The only reason I say this is because a) this is a classic Atlanta reference, almost anyone living in the city at the time remembers it and b) the Chapmans are from Atlanta so they are probably also aware of it.
[edit] Clever Header Title
Hey there, tomstiff. I think you're cool. Just a random compliment for ya. Flamboyantly yours, BazookaJoe 06:19, 24 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- Gawrsh, thanks=very yes! And here I thought I was laboring away in obscurity! -- tomstiff 13:16, 24 Jun 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Minor changes
Hey tomstiff. How are ya? Quick question: do you have "Mark all edits minor by default" checked in your preferences? Sometimes your edits are more substantial than what I would consider minor. Maybe it's a matter of preference, but take this edit for example. (Not that I disagree with the change itself; I just think it's a substantial change.) By the way, keep up the good work on the wiki! — It's dot com 16:53, 8 Jul 2005 (UTC)
- I never know when I cross the line from minor edit to major. It's just habit that I mark 'em all as "minor" edits. -- tomstiff 17:05, 8 Jul 2005 (UTC)
- I think maybe you've got the line drawn too high. Spelling, grammar, punctuation, formatting (to a point)—I think of these things as minor. But anything that is a change in content—even if it's just a few words—is not minor. Also, I would think that comments on talk pages are not minor. If for some reason I was hiding minor edits in the Recent changes, I would have missed your reply. ;) — It's dot com 17:19, 8 Jul 2005 (UTC)
- Hmmmm, I think I'll just start marking everything as "not minor." Obviously, if *I* make a change, it *must* be important! -- tomstiff 17:22, 8 Jul 2005 (UTC)
- That's funny. I like that reasoning. I'll probably steal that joke someday (and not give you credit ;) ). — It's dot com
- I have a habit of marking pages minor, too. I have to use extra brain juice to remind myself not to check the box on an edit like this. I think what It's dot com said is where I draw the line. -BazookaJoe 17:44, 8 Jul 2005 (UTC)
- I have the opposite habit -- I never mark my changes as minor. Homestar Coder
18:59, 8 Jul 2005 (UTC)
- I have the same tendency as Aurora. I assume everything is a regular edit unless I can come up with a compelling reason people would consider it minor. — It's dot com 19:21, 8 Jul 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Alien mothership
"Hovering alien mothership"? Really? I was about to revert what I was sure was trolling by an anonymous user when I saw it was your edit. ;) — It's dot com 21:52, 18 Jul 2005 (UTC)
- Sure I'm (semi) serious! Strong Sad said he'd discovered gold there. Now, you *could* make the argument that jumping was one of the super powers the aliens gave him! -- tomstiff 21:54, 18 Jul 2005 (UTC)
- If you watch the flash file frame-by-frame, you can see that Strong Sad enters the scene head-first from the upper-left corner. I see no indication that he's entering under his own power. -- tomstiff 22:03, 18 Jul 2005 (UTC)
- Oh, right! Strong Sad does mention a spaceship. I couldn't hear his lines because I'm here at work and have had my sound off while investigating this. Looking at it again, however, I'm still pretty sure he's jumping, not falling, into the scene. — It's dot com 22:15, 18 Jul 2005 (UTC)
- An arc (parabola) doesn't imply a jump. He could have propelled himself forward while falling from a stationary object above the frame or fallen "directly" down from a moving one. -- tomstiff 22:32, 18 Jul 2005 (UTC)
- You've obviously put a lot of thought into this, but I think you're making it too complicated. You agree that his trajectory could "be exhibited by an object following an arc." In other words, one might say that it looks like he jumped. If it looks that way, then he probably did. — It's dot com 22:47, 18 Jul 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Hmmm.
I need to find some sort of fun fact.
[edit] removed a "this is the n-th time" item ...
Why is that not valid but just 4 lines up is the remark as follows: "This is the first time we see the Floppy Disk Container close up."
I think this should go into discussion.
- Well, I'm not Tom, but we generally only acknowledge "firsts." Your fact was a "second." Put it in STUFF if you want it discussed and voted on, but I'm guessing it'll be declined. Homestar Coder

[edit] Revision
"Is a revision required? The current revision is on its way to being accepted."
- Sorry; I saw someone request a revision, and I agreed -- if you'd like, I'll remove it. Trey56
- Sorry? No reason to be sorry! I was just surprised to see a revsion and was curious why it was added. -- tomstiff 15:33, 11 Aug 2005 (UTC)
[edit] re: Stuffed Item
"this should have been summarily deleted and not STUFFed."
- It was summarily deleted. Twice. That's why I Schtuff'd it! ;) —BazookaJoe 13:50, 15 Aug 2005 (UTC)
- Ugh. I hate it when that happens! -- tomstiff 13:55, 15 Aug 2005 (UTC)
[edit] impressions
In the toon Strong Bads hand moves, but before it reaches the recoreder, it starts making the noise. Mr. Bojangles
- It must be very subtle. I've watched it and I don't see it. At least three folks disagree with you. If you feel strongly about it, feel free to move the fact to the STUFF page for a wider review. -- tomstiff 22:31, 16 Aug 2005 (UTC)
- I've listened to it repeatedly, and if it's really like that (and I'm not saying it is), then it's just the tinest of split seconds before. Nothing to get worked up over. — It's dot com 22:42, 16 Aug 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Revert
sorry, nostradamus... mind being a bit more verbose as to why you feel that Fun Fact is incorrect? --195.92.67.69 23:25, 16 Aug 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Maybe try this?
Hi tomstiff. I do see the "new toon soon!" you removed in this edit. Maybe try viewing the file directy? Refreshing your cache? -- Tom 21:43, 22 Aug 2005 (UTC)
- The new toon soon message is at the end of the cycle. —BazookaJoe 22:15, 22 Aug 2005 (UTC)
- Cleared the cache. Viewed the file directly. No soap. I don't see it. Odd ... -- tomstiff 22:33, 22 Aug 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Coma
Hello, Mr. Stiff. I was curious as to why you removed my wikipedia link to comas in the Dancing Brothers article. I have no love for comas, or want to be in one, but thought it might be interesting to link. It was - the wikipedia article is in need of cleaning and revision. Alas, not being a medical doctor, I should probably leave that to someone who is (or pretends to be). I admit Poopsmith Z's re-word was unecessary, but my link? THE SMOKING MONKEY 14:26, 23 Aug 2005 (UTC)
- I figured *everyone* knows what a coma is! But y'know ... it's amazing what people don't know. I'll put it back if you haven't already. -- tomstiff 14:36, 23 Aug 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks for the response. I don't know, one of the reasons I like wiki is you can zip from topic to topic - and if you wanted to know about comas, well, you can read about comas. THE SMOKING MONKEY 14:40, 23 Aug 2005 (UTC)
- I agree with you ... generally. I do believe that you have to assume that there is some level of "common knowledge", otherwise you'd be linking almost every word! -- tomstiff 15:01, 23 Aug 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Ridin' The Storm Out!
Evacuated Houston to escape Rita only to have it follow me to Nacogdoches! Wish me luck! -- tomstiff 03:10, 24 Sep 2005 (UTC)
- Hope you're doing ok, last I checked that storm was pretty intense. See you on the other side.

[edit] Home At Last
Finally got back home today. I took my time. There was no way I was gonna sit in traffic for 9 or more hours! Had more problems in Nacogdoches than in Houston. The worst part was no internets and no HSR! -- tomstiff 22:01, 27 Sep 2005 (UTC)
