[edit] Viewing massive amount of text at the same time?

In most subtitles, I've been noticing that some sentences longer than 10-15 words are on the same line and that a long line of words isn't broken into two.
Example from Subtitles:onetwo/en:
<strongbad>(Singing) I'm a woman on the prowl and I speak up for myself! The city is at night and I'm dancin'! Dancin'!<strongbad>
That's way too long, you know. It oughta look like this:
<strongbad>(Singing) I'm a woman on the prowl and I speak up for myself!<strongbad>
<strongbad>(Singing) The city is at night and I'm dancin'! Dancin'!<strongbad>
Don't you agree? --Charlie Jr. 14:41, 8 July 2007 (UTC)

Well, that line appears as one unbroken line on my browser, but your point is valid. Then again, making the subtitles too short can make it harder for people to read them. One could add a <br /> in the middle of the subtiutle, forcing a line break in the middle where it's less obtrusive. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 14:57, 8 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] No Loading

Not sure if this is the right place to be asking this, but... The subtitles don't load for me. Every time I watch a toon, I get a "Loading subtitles" message that doesn't go away. Can anyone help?

A specific toon, or all of them? The local viewer, or the Greasemonkey script? If it's the GM script, are you sure you've got the latest version? --phlip TC 07:26, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
The Greasemonkey script doesn't load subtitles on any toon for me. The local viewer works just fine though. I just reinstalled the Gm script and the same problem persists. Everything else in the script works, though. I can still flip the screen upside down, view what's outside the frame, ect.
From the Tools menu, choose "Error Console". Hit the "Clear" button, and then load up some H*R toon... tell me what shows up in the console. Leave out any "reference to undefined property details.data", or "junk after document element" from rando.xml... I can't avoid either of those. --phlip TC 08:38, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
it says "transcript[first] has no properties"
Hmm... how odd. I just made a small change to the script... update it and try again, tell me if that helps. --phlip TC 09:32, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
