MATT CHAPMAN: Harmonix's Alex Rigopoulos called us up and said "Hey, we're thinking of including one of your songs in Guitar Hero 2, so we’re going to send you two copies of Guitar Hero!" So we were like, "Wow, we've gotta go buy a used PS2!"
Guitar Hero is a series of video games formerly developed by Harmonix that enables players to play along to well-known rock songs using a guitar-shaped controller. The CEO of Harmonix, Alex Rigopulos, contacted The Brothers Chaps and asked if they would be willing to include a Homestar Runner song as a bonus track on Guitar Hero II (see Georgia Tech - 26 Apr 2007). Following the success of Guitar Hero II, Harmonix developed Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s and once again used a Homestar Runner song as part of the game's set list.

The loading screen for the song displays what is apparently advice on playing the song from Strong Bad:
"For squeadlies, mash on the trembalo. For meadlies, tone up on your chord surpassers. Oh, and I'm awesome."
This advice is based on Strong Bad's guitar terminology from guitar.
The game's credits state the song is "Written and performed by the Brothers Chap and Y-O-U", with vocals credited to Strong Bad.

"Because, It's Midnite" is featured as an "encore" song in Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s. The song is considered particularly difficult due to the guitar solo that precedes the bridge.
The loading screen for the song reads:While on tour,
Limozeen used to
demand leather
sheets from the
hotels they stayed
at until the rashes
and animal rights
activists became a
problem.
The game credits the song to "Mike and Matt Chapman" (in parenthesis; this format was used for II while all other songs in Rocks the 80s are credited with the format "Made famous by" or "Performed by" the original band). The song is said to be performed by Limozeen and vocals are credited to Larry Palaroncini, though all other instruments are credited to the real-world performers.

In the Limozeen Live! practice, Larry Palaroncini is seen holding a Guitar Hero III controller from the Wii version of the game. He says he can only play on medium difficulty, while a pop-up informs the viewer that he can't pass the first song (which would be "Slow Ride" by Foghat) on easy.
