Super Brave!! (later These kids rule) is a photograph of nine Japanese schoolchildren showing off their drawings of Homestar Runner. Moving the mouse over the kids reveals a chibi caricature of each.
The photo was shared through a main page message that read "super brave!!"; a few days later, on February 24, the text was changed to "these kids rule". This page was later removed from the site.

[edit] Explanations
- The photo was taken by John Podeszwa at Waiokeola English School in Osaka, Japan. Additional photos can be seen on this article's talk page.
- The initial page title comes from one child's shirt, which reads "Super Brave – Spare NO effort!!"
[edit] Remarks
- Fan work being featured through a main page message is historically irregular for homestarrunner.com. At the time that the photos were received, the site was in between its two fan stuff features: the original Fan Stuff collection had ceased updates in 2002, while its successor Weekly Fanstuff did not start until 2004.
[edit] Inside References
- A few of the drawings include colored stripes behind Homestar, indicating the kids likely referenced the "crayon" wallpaper when drawing.
[edit] Real-World References
- The child's "Mariners" shirt, simplified to "Ichiro" in the caricature, refers to Seattle Mariners baseball player Ichiro Suzuki (commonly known mononymously as "Ichiro"). Suzuki, who began his professional baseball career in his native Japan, joined the Mariners in 2001 and swiftly rose to success and popularity; he retired as a player in 2019 and is considered one of the greatest baseball players of all time.
[edit] Fast Forward
- The caricatures of the children would later be featured in various KaraokeFun videos included on strongbad_email.exe DVDs.
